Hello everyone, hope you're having a great day! I had quit smoking cold turkey for four years but went back to it after this year turned into a nightmare for me about one month in. I wanted the nicotine but I was very conscious of the smell and the awful taste since I had been gone so long. I tried Blu which I didn't like then switched to vaping. Been at it a month now and have learned some hard lessons like that taste is very subjective, the descriptions and reviews are great but then nope. So I decided to start DIY, I figured I better join up instead of lurking because I'll need a lot of info and help :)

Ok, here is where you come in. Do you have any vape wisdom you'd like to share? Maybe something you wished you knew when you started? If you do please let me know so I could hopefully learn some of the lessons I haven't yet learned the hard way.

Welcome to ecf!! The most important lesson i learned was to hang out here earlier than i did when i started... It a treshold of awesome information. It answered lot of my questions before i even knew to ask them. It also made me aware of issues and factors i did not think excisted. Safe journey and if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

Welcome to ECF as a poster. very true tatse is very subjective as not everyone will taste things the same. I always find it best to go to a B&M shop and taste samples they have out. If I'm interested in a flavor I see on the net I ask my shop if they know what makes up that flavor, sometimes they do and put some together for me. If I cant get the answers I need I buy a small sample bottle so I'm not out a lot of cash if I don't like it. Here is also a trick I use for samples I don't like. I personally love Black licorice flavor its a super strong flavor that will alter any other flavor if vaped rite afterwards. I have a large bottle of the Licorice so I can usually dump juice I don't like into It, the black licorice flavor will overtake the other flavor easily.

Here's a couple. If you are going to DIY juice, make small 5 ml batches. Adding more flavor sometimes makes it worse. Be sure to allow plenty of time for your juice to steep, a couple of weeks at least for most juices. Always wear gloves when mixing your juice, nic sick is no fun. Cotton is yummy, silica is freakin' nasty.

Blu is vaping dear. What did you switch to? "Vape wisdom"... lots of it here to pick and choose from... just use "search" for specific answers. The main thing I wish I had known before starting was how much dishonesty there is out there trying to keep me away from vaping. All the propaganda kept me away from the better health I have now since starting to vape instead of smoking. Had it not been out there attempting to instill fear in me, I would have gotten started much sooner and have reaped the benefits much sooner. Oh, and welcome to ECF... vape on.

Edit: dang brain... hear, here, they're, there, their... ugh.

Hi! I'm new here, but want to extend encouragement and support to you :)

Probably the one thing I wish I'd known is not to take every B&M salesperson's word as gold. I've heard four versions of "truth" depending on who is selling what. And of course many things are based on opinions, so take time to research and come to your own conclusions about what works for you.
Good luck to you!! :)

Blu is vaping dear. What did you switch to?

I know Blu is vaping but my brain always disassociates the two because it's such a completely different experience for me. I switched to a Kanger Evod and upgraded to the mini protank 2. I've ordered some variable voltage/wattage batteries and they should be here on Thursday, also have some atomizers coming in that day too. I want to go with mods and RBA's but I get gun shy about tech I'm inexperienced with, I can rebuild my computer but totally terrified of taking the mod plunge. Also they all look so BIG, kind of intimidating to me.

Welcome to ecf. You sound like a awful smart girl to me and what better way to learn? We all have. That is what makes ecf people so special. I put off several things like rebuilding coils because I was afraid I couldn't do it. I wish I had tried sooner. I love the mixing part but must admit I am quite lazy and have found a couple of drops of VapingZones gourmet and super concentrated flavors in a bottle of unflavored nic juice is the easiest for me and have been quite happy.

The second best thing about ecf is all the information that is at your fingertips, literally. But I find the best thing has got to be............the wonderful people you will meet here. I'm glad you are here and wish you happy vaping. :)

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendation, I'll check their stuff out because I'm lazy too :)

I view the Blu e cig the same way. I just cant get my head around that enough to call it vaping as done with the gear I use now. Its like night and day. I did for S*&^% and Giggles screw one of the blu carts into my Regulated mod and got some ok vapor from it, but its still had garbage taste, and its still far from vapor I can get from even the worse gear I own.
