Hello all, been lurking ECF for a while, and decided I would finally join. I have a long, and inconsistent history with vaping over the last 4-5 years, but still determined to find a way to vape that really keeps me with it. A friend introduced me to Blu, and I found it pretty nifty, got my own, which lasted a week before I was back on analogs... This same friend dropped his shortly after... Blu started talking about their improved version, so I tried again, failed again... Left vaping alone for a few years, and stumbled across Volcano, and got myself, and the previously mentioned friend, an Inferno set, which was freaking awesome! But I ran out of juice, and other minor things that happen with vaping, but my friend stuck with it, and to this day has gotten far in to vaping, experiencing different ways to vape, etc. And he has been trying to get me back in, but my god things have changed since I started...

TL;DR I enjoy vaping, but quite picky, and hoping this seemingly helpful community can help me on my quest to my holy grail of vapes.

I can only speak for what I use. I have the eGo Twists 1 is a 650 mAh and 2 1000 mAh. I also have the Vision Vivi Nova as the delivery system. They work great for me. I haven't gotten into any of the other setups because, quite frankly, this works perfectly fine for me. I'm sure others will come along and chime in and give suggestions of what works for them. After that, it will be a matter of research on your part to decide what you think will work for you. You have started out the right way by asking what the options are. Good luck and welcome! :)

Sounds like we have been riding in the same boat. Tried the cheap Cig2O, and then the 510-T but still smoked. Started making my own juice - very long time menthol smoker - and then got hold of a 1300mah eGo battery and a Kanger T2 and WOW! What a difference! I actually had my first analog free week in over 20 years! As far as juice I get VG at Wal-Mart (Humco glycerin in the pharmacy dept -" skin protectant", which turns out to be USP VG at $3 per 6oz bottle), menthol crystals on Ebay at $5 per oz, and flavours and nicotine from Wizard Labs. Total cost for everything that can keep me vaping for probably a YEAR is less than the cost of 2 or 3 regular bottles of juice. Cost of the eGo 1300mah, ego to 510 adapter, charger and Kanger, shipped, came out to about $30, and it produces an AMAZING amount of vapor!

My first was a 901 from aquavapor. Then an avs from Imeo with a batt tube I built. Then I got a GTUS. Next is a did with a precise. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. Love IT. DId I mention I love it?

Now I run coops to help out others get a killer setup. There is allot of gear out there.

If you don't want to spend allot of money I would stay away from genesis style attys, they can be very addicting and very rewarding. The flavor is out of the world on them. I have turned into somewhat of a collector.

I also make my own liquid, except when it comes to Pluid. LOVE IT as well. Nothing else like it in the vaping world.

Well, my friend let me try his set up while I went to visit him, and I have NO IDEA what brands things are, but it was a very clean looking rba, a vv gripper with 3000mah 18650 batts. Within 3 good hits I was in such a blissful nicotine induced high, I don't think anything would have bothered me... I may have a general IDEA of what I want, which involves similar things, but was thinking more for a rba with a tank... I am not bothered by the problems of an rba as far as doing it well, I managed to change my control arm and balljoint on my car after watching a 10 min youtube video lol. So if I can find a decent yet inexpensive rba with tank, that gripper and bats, I MAY be set. I am currently using the previously mentioned inferno, with a tubetank, and its helping but can NOT compete with my friends set-up

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It appears I made a good choice by joining.

EDIT: Considering I smoke(d) roughly 30 cigarettes a day, since I have picked up my inferno and tubetank, I have been vaping nearly all day inbetween actual cigarettes, 36mg juice. Always a fruit flavor or vanilla....

On the rebuildable tank, I don't know exactly what I am looking for, or if they taste better than standard tanks or what, but imo the rba my friend had taste 10000x better than my low res volcano atty. Can anyone direct me to a good but not insanely priced rebuildable tank kit that would fit on a vv gripper?

I'd suggest a Vision vivi nova tank(or mini). The vivis are good for beginner builders who want to try their hand at rebuilding without learning curve of some RBAs. Either way, you'll need to be well informed since you don't want to have it blow up in your face. (no joke) Here's a video about the vivi tank from PBusardo who has made 100s of test/review videos:
A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding - YouTube

If you have some time and a bit of cash to invest, rebuilding and mixing will save you tons of money in the long run. The cost of rebuilding my Vivi costs a few cents. My DIY e-juice is so low I haven't even bothered to figure it up... less than a few pennies per ml.

Lately I've been playing with the Hyper SRT II. It's good for the price, but I've changed it some. I've posted a review/experience in the RBA section if you're interested.

Above all, safety! ECF is filled with useful information for just about anything you can think up in the e-cig world. and that's my:2c:

The vivi nova tank looks appealing, and it gives the option to use premade heads until I am comfortable rebuilding them myself... I heard the v1 isn't good, but I am seeing v2 and v3... so I am lost here, as I don't know many sites to trust ordering stuff from... Other than volcano and madvapes... But I can certainly see myself enjoying a vv gripper with the vivi nova...

I've only ordered them from gotvapes.com.(only a customer; no affiliation) They always have the latest stuff from Vision. Make sure it's a VISION vivi. There are imitations. I believe V3 is the latest. I'm happy with V2.5 or newer. There's a list of official distributors:

Jazzy, you have been a great help to me thus far, and it is greatly appreciated... If all goes well, I will be vaping on a decent vv, and the nova tank in the near future.

Oh! You are most welcome :) I've dived head first into the RBA world; it was quite frustrating at first. I bought the Hyper SRT II, then modded it for cotton. I wasted about 8 inches of Kanthal until realizing a 1.5mm difference in height of the coil completely changed the vape. Live and learn lol. If I can help someone overcome the steep learning curve, I'm there. :) (and learning like everyone else here)
