Morning Everyone!!!

I may try one of those scrubbies, just not the owl part. I hate to admit it but if I never see another owl (other than the living kind) it will be way too soon. When mom died I was stuck dealing with the estate, with 2 bipolar sisters (not medicated) and over 8,000 owls; it was an extremely unpleasant situation and I find myself tensing at even the sight of an owl anything! My MIL makes the plain scrubbie (though now in her 90's and 500 miles away). I never thought to ask her for the pattern. I do know they work quite well and I can always use a scrubbie that can be thrown in the laundry. My mom made the crocheted dish cloth you mentioned yesterday and I started out looking for a pattern and ended up getting side tracked and adding patterns for a dozen other things instead.

Did you see the link for the lighted crochet hook? I am wondering if I could work comfortably with a hook that big around... I know I could sure you the extra sight help it would give!

Yeah the scrubby part is what I'd want to use.
I liked the big handle -the light might be nice.
I go find the dishcloths for you - but even a granny square or a circle would work.

I've actually never tried to do a granny square...Mom always told me they were to use up spare yarn and I never seemed to have any spare yarn. I always seemed to do projects that I didn't have left over or ended up using it for the kids to use on plastic canvas. Now I have about 30 skeins of various baby type pastel. I have no idea what she planned for it but there is a large amount of lavender and only about 4 skeins of white...

Double and single stitches. Would be a good dish cloth :)

I think that the hemp yarn would be good in the kitchen.
I'm going to look for an old people hook today when we go to the store :)

Thank you, that one looks good. I will most likely try the lighted one, my eye sight isn't as good as it used to be and my hands cramp or the carpal tunnel numbness sets in after a point. Maybe one of these days we will go to Pueblo and I will see if they have any of the lighted kind. For now I will do with the ones I have.

I made a pink granny square with center flower blanket for my daughters crib. Also one for the doll bed :)

Granny squares can be used for anything. Make 2 sew together for a trivet or pot holder.
Make 16 and sew for a shawl....

God willing, no baby quilts for a few years, eldest grandson is 16 and his gf lives next door... because of much younger siblings they visit in their own bedrooms with the doors shut... scares me to death but when I say something both sets of parents say, "it will be ok, they are smart kids."

I could use a nice shawl though!

Cute but not a dishcloth :) Would you really keep that in the car in case you buy a hot coffee?
And I see no reason to pay for a pattern. There are soooo many free versions out there

I wouldn't but then again there are lots of free cup cozy patterns and a circle is no big stretch. Just do the right color patterns and then stitch them into the right place. I've never used a cup cozy, just thought they were cute. Too much stuff in my vehicles as it is!

Hey Lori, thought you were gone for sure
Nope, had a few things here I wanted to get done. I'm getting ready to shut down now though. Have a great afternoon all. :)

I used to have a hook the length of a knitting needle. I'd like to find another one. It made great throws...
...now I'd rather stay home and crochet. You're 100% right about not buying patterns!! There are free ones everywhere!!

 it was 12:30  granted I didn't fall back asleep last night til prob 3am but still a good solid 10 hours of sleep....
I know I'm sick and all and need my rest but dang....usually meds don't mess with me that much but these sure are making me very groggy...but it was nice cuz I finally actually feel like I slept last night...and aside from the sore throat/mouth difficulty breathing  I'm feeling somewhat better........

Only hook I can find that dd didn't acquire is an old H hook. I need to find one with a large handle I can hold
On to. I'll look if we ever get to the store today...

The hooks I use most often are an H or a J for some reason. Pueblo has a Hobby Lobby, they might have one but who knows when I will get there. With what shipping would probably be though I can wait! No DDs to take my hooks... One DIL wanted to learn, no really she wanted to prove she couldn't learn in hopes I would make this for her: Giant Doily Rug » Curbly | DIY Design Community but with a rope light string worked into it. She has a couple other sewing items she wanted to "learn" to sew for, then couldn't get the hang of it... I haven't made them for her, I'm aware she is highly intelligent and is just being lazy!

glad everyone had fun last night....
Avery and her grandma ran from one end of the house to the other watching the fireworks
I've never been big into them...they're fun for about 5 minutes :p seems kya feels the same way that I do...she stayed in her room on her computer all night....and I, well, wasn't feeling well so was pretty much just zoned out here on the couch trying to make sense of what I was reading  mushy brain

we are the poor family in the rich neighborhood and I tell ya every year these people get bigger and better trying to out do each other....we see better firework displays here than if we went downtown :)

Glad you are on the upswing now! Just don't over do it right away when you think you are there! A little extra rest never hurts!:)
