I've been lurking for a while after finding the site on google, doing searches for good vaping info. I did smoke, many years ago, but eventually I switched to snus. I liked snus, a whole lot, with the ability to use it anytime, anywhere, around my kids, in public, or whatever. Eventually though, the nasty tobacco laws made overseas shipping from Sweden UPS only, and it became prohibitively expensive. It was still okay for a few months though, because there was a warehouse that distributed snus in PA that I could order from. Once that store became Sweden only, I had to find a cheaper alternative.

I've been aware of vaping for a while, but I mostly thought it was limited to crappy gas station ecigs, or uber expensive mods. I started out with a very cheap gas station stick, and was not terribly impressed. But then I started reading online and found the forum. I finally decided to pick up an eGo based battery and a bunch of CE4 clearo clones, and some Dekang RY1. Altogether it worked pretty well.

I've since then got an EVOD, which is pretty impressive, and a stronger battery, while dabbling in some other juices. I've been doing some reading, and in a few days, I feel confident enough to start building my own coils and wicks, once I get the supplies. Eventually, I plan on getting a Vamo and get really serious vaping going.

Anyway, I'm glad to finally participate and be a part of the forum that's helped so much.:vapor::vapor:

Hi, and welcome.

If you're serious about building your own coils right away, looking into the RDA/RBAs. RDAs like the Phoenix V4 or Smok mini-rda/squid are less than $10, and pack in plenty of throat hit, vapor and flavor. And they work great on mechs, like the k100.

I use ego batteries, a k100, and an itaste MVP. Meets all of my needs.

If you have any questions about anything, give us a holler!

building coils: Rebuildable Atomizer Systems

I'm getting a mulitmeter along with my wire and wick, so no worries about not knowing the proper ohms for my coils. I do plan on getting an RBA eventually, but I'm going to wait for a little bit and just work on building EVOD and Vivi Nova coils and wicks for a while until I get the hang of it really well.

As for the snus I used, I first used a lot of different ones over the years, but lately it was either Thunder, Odin, or General.

im vaping my vamo/protank right now. it's my first setup and it seemed the easiest to get going while also having the other functions i wanted. i didn't want to go the ego route because i felt i would end up with mods anyway since i usually dive head first into everything. but im very happy with it, had some hiccups with the center post ohm error, but thanks to some posts here, it was an pretty easy fix.

i too am going to try rebuilding some protank coils today, should get my res wire and wicks today. with all the info here, you can learn a ton in a couple hours, good luck on your vaping journey
