Yeah, I know how the world operates now days :( Everyone is in for a world of hurt though as a result  Just look at all these cop killings we are seeing now ... lack of respect for any kind of authority.

Sure hate that for your niece's, that's just awful!! :grr:
The niece going through the pinching thing is current.

The other one was five or six years ago. He's 18 now.
He was a pistol though. I think he's straightened up now.
Kids just go through things, and yeah, it's sad that the tools for discipline have been put aside.
When I say discipline, I don't mean beating a kid, that's too far.
But, yeah...there's going to be a price to pay for the "no consequences" style of child rearing.

It's also a touchy subject, these are just my personal opinions, I don't have kids, so I don't comment much.
I fear that I'd end up in jail though if I had an unruly child....and I *know* my DH would.

Nor did my mom...and you sure didn't want to act like that if dad was home.

Same here. You didn't even think about getting out if line when I was a kid...nor any backlip or you may be picking up some teeth [emoji28]

Now you can't even hardly correct kids. Mine are in their thirties now. When they were little, both girls tried to pitch hissy fits...once. Lol They figured out that it was much easier to not even try. I just didn't work.

Yeah, I'm realizing I need to hush on the subject

I knew there was a possibility I could wind up in jail even back then but I guess I didn't care enough to let them run wild.

And see, that was *exactly* the beauty of it, we as children/teens (lol's) learned quickly that *that* type of behavior was unacceptable, wouldn't be tolerated, and it didn't take many times before we learned to knock it off and behave.

My niece that pinched the girls, I don't know how that will end up. She doesn't think that she's going to get in trouble, but she absolutely refuses to not discipline.
She's not abusing them, by any means, but her 9 year old I guess is going through the backlip stage (bad), and my niece will not tolerate it, and...she also gave her an open face slap in WalMart last year during a heated melt down. It wasn't brutal, but she slapped her, and told her she would not speak that way to her mother...something like that.
Nothing came of it, but I really fear for my niece the way these issues are treated these days.

But yeah, growing up when we did, we would've been picking up our teeth.

Nor *should* a parent.

Oh yeah, I'm sure there are some hair raising stories out there.
I have a *really* good one on the nephew, but geesh...it would take a page to tell.
Short end of it, he refused to leave his older brother's house, (my brother his grandpa had gone to pick him up).
He said he wasn't leaving and that my brother couldn't *make* him.
So, my brother went up to the local police station, thankfully his buddy from kindergarten, was on duty...he went and collected the kid.
He even tried to tell the police officer that he didn't have to go with him, that he couldn't *make* him do anything he didn't *want* to do...the police officer just laughed and said..."Nope, *I'm* the one that actually *can* make you do what you don't want to."
Nothing came of that either, he put him in the car, took him to the police station and talked to him about minding his parents, and grandparents, etc.
But yeah, it's crazy times we live in these days.

They teach the kids that even adults can't make them do *anything* they don't want to do.
"Safe places" don't ya know....

I like that one too.
We have a local station that has a better radar, when there's storms in the area, but for the forecast info, WeatherWunderground for sure!!

Okay, I need to go eat and get my rear end moving. ;)
