Trust me we all have our own little "special" moments from our vaping. It is so new for so many of us that they can't begin to warn us about all of it. Like I said, I only found out for sure the other day that even though it says it's a DCT you can use a single coil carto in it as long as it is the right size carto.
You will be fine and the "grommet" sounds like something I would do!
