If it attaches to his collar, get a harness style for when he rides in that. That's what I only use on Rita, that's the kind my vet said to use, so I obeyed. But that way he could pull all he wanted to.

Maybe leave the collar on, so you can hold him too. I put Rita's on the floor and lay it out the way it goes on. She stands really still for me. She knows she get to go bye bye when that goes on.
