Chim it's 28 gauge kanthal micro coil. I wrap about 10 or so tight wraps around a 5/64 drill bit. Then I squeeze the coil together while heating it with a torch so that it stays tight.

Comes out around 1.1-1.3ohm

That's the second time I've heard that about heating coil's ... gonna have to try that!

Dale, Yes....the hot bath (with Epsom salts) was sooooooooo relaxing!! I pulled a muscle in my shoulder over the weekend and so I needed that long soak. Not sure how long I'm going to be able to stay awake now.....

DH is in St. Louis tonight at the football game (Rams). St. Louis is hosting Monday Night Football AND Game 5 of the World Series. Both events are downtown. I told DH that you couldn't have PAID me to go into the city tonight.... He's trying to time his exit just right to miss the end of the baseball game.
I told him good luck with that.

I gotta find the right size thing to wrap my coils with, haven't done that yet ... been "winging" it

I like 18 gauge wire the best. But everyone has their preference. You can get it at any florist. The uncoated metal would be better, then I would clean it good, and give it a final rubbing alcohol wipe down. If they only have the green, which is what I've been using, that's okay. I don't even know (now that I think about it) if I even disinfected it....and it hasn't killed me yet. Course, I eat at McDonald's, (occasionally) so I'm probably immune to most cooties.

Use wire cutters to cut to a comfortable length. Mine is about ?? 4 inches maybe. Then I hold my wick next to that and wrap around both.

Did you watch the tutorial at Phil Busardo's website?? He does an Evod recoil. He free hand wraps his coil around the wick only in that tutorial if memory serves. I had to watch it several times before I "got it". In fact, I think that I watched as I did it.

Huh, I never thought of something like that ... I saw Lisa say something about using a wire from a basket!
I guess you just pick the size you want huh?
