Wow, talk about bad days. I got a storm cloud over me...LoL. Had a flat tire at work yesterday, nobody around to help so I had to plug it myself (luckily I keep a heavy duty compressor and plug kit in my truck). It was a freakn huge sheet metal screw and somehow stuck in head first, so a bear to get out. But anyway, manage to really get my back hurting by doing it, so I stayed home today. So decided to use the time wisely learning more on my CNC...great right...wrong. Ended up over extending one of the axis and breaking a backlash nut/bushing that allow the X axis to travel. So lathe/mill totally out of commission, but luckily Mike from Mike's Tools is a hell of a guy and got the part right out to me and they should be in before the end of the week. So then messed around a little with the hydrographics, d'oh, found out the hard way I needed special base paints for it to stick properly as after three tries, the pattern just wouldn't stick. But at least I have a place here in GA that sells it and I get it in tomorrow (but freakn $17 bucks shipping for a place 2 hours away for 3 spray cans of paint...argh). Ok, sorry for the gripe session, just needed to vent. Going to spend the rest of the day on the freakn couch as everything I touch turns to do-do today....LoL.

On a good note, Mr Xpuppy should have his super cool bubble bee (white teak and blackwood) tip in today. I am very anxious to here if he likes it as much as I did. So shed me a little sunshine today brother???

Well, I just never stop trying to come up with new ways of improving things. Rossum has long used stranded wire in the switch portion of his peko. Now that I am using an auto adjust 510 on the Peko, the more rigid solid wire I was using could sometimes keep the center pin pulled down as the spring might not be enough to over come. So you had to make sure the wire is pushed up tight to the bottom with the atty out, so it would ensure to push down into the auto adjust 510 on the pin. So D'oh, why not just use stranded on the positive pin wire coming from the bottom. Carries the same current as the solid. Using highly flexible silicone insulated, I am now using 14G stranded on the switch wire, soldered from the 510 brass nut to the brass fire switch screw and stranded from the positive 510 pin to the lower battery connector. I gotta say, it is smooth acting, you get the little longer throw back in the button that some folks like and it's not a hard push on the fire button. Overall, I am totally pleased. Though I am still going to play with making a solid copper terminal on the CNC and decide which I like better. But right now, this is a winner. I'll have some pics tomorrow of my latest Peko about to go overseas to it's lucky recipient.

Exquisite collection of Mod's you have there Bob! :w00t:

Equally impressive matching drip tips. :D

You rock DJ!
Thanks, one other thing,
every one of them (c'ept Vaughn's) has D_J's adjustable Classic 510 setup, works like a charm for folks like me that switch atties often

Thanks guys appreciate all the kind words. Nice to hear.

So anyway, got the final news today. Surgery will be in December, but don't have an exact date yet. The surgeon today will be performing a double fusion, having to remove my failed one (which was only one side) and then going back with doing both sides and then doing the joint below. So L4/L5 and L5/S1 to be fused. So plenty of time for folks to get any work done with me you need. Please send it on, I need to keep my mind occupied anyway.

Got my lathe parts in today, so will have that back up and running hopefully tonight. So ready to rock and roll.

Sorry you have to suffer so long, but understand the reluctance to be prevented from doing much for a while after. Hope you are able to have each day as pain free as possible.
