I don't think it would work well. I do machining at my work. You would have to put the mill bit so far down to get a slot that it would chew up a good piece of the filler as well. Unless you could machine it on a horizontal mounted chuck of some sort(like from a lathe) and rotate it on the mill table. But we don't have that setup. We have a lathe and a mill but nothing to use a rotating lathe chuck ON the mill. Theoretically, that could work well I guess.

I do dot my cartos using a 1/16" mill bit though. It goes through like butter with much better control and leaves a much better finish than a drill bit.

What do you think it would take to introduce a production machine to mill those holes ?

I wonder if the Chinese manufacturer (Boge in Shenzen IIRC) is aware of our desire to have holes in the sides of the cartos they make... it sure would be a lot easier to have them make the holes than to do it after the fact.

Smoktech does do pre-punched cartos (for their own tanks). However, with the flange on those cartos and the height of the hole, I find that they can't be used in some other tanks (the hole winds up covered by the tank cap). I also don't like the size of the hole they do, too small for my thick juices

A lot of vendors that sell tanks punch or slot some for sale that way. This is a great option for those who don't have the knack or desire to do it themselves, and another benefit is that the holes will be in the right position to fit their tanks. They're slightly more expensive due to the extra labor involved, though

For me, I'd rather do the punching myself. That way they are done in the size, number and location that I want ;-)
