Not familiar with the Mactank - a carto tank?

The Tesla VV is a good device as long as you stay within it's power capabilities. Anything with a coil from about 1.4 to 3 Ω will work fine. I often have a kayfun on mine, or a PT2, Davide, or similar clearo. (Not a personal fan of cartos, but not a thing wrong with them if you like 'em :) )

I have found that the Kanger T3S is a shade too big to fit into the Tesla well, so if you go with that, you may need to add a thread extender. Otherwise, no problems with any toppers on the Tesla.

If you like the way it vapes, carry on! :)

The Tesla VV is limited to 3 amps, so any "standard" range resistance will work fine. You'll not be sub-ohming with it, but most regulated mods have a low ohm cutoff around 1.2, anyway. So no sub-ohming on any regulated battery.

Taste is very subjective, but if you've only experienced cartos, in or out of a tank, you might want to try some of the other toppers to find out what you like best. All of us have our favorite device(s) for the flavors and style of vaping we like as individuals. Unlike cigs, in vape-land, I don't think there's any "one size fits all." Which is good, and not so good, as the trial and error can add up $$. But once you find what YOU like best, it gets ea$ier

And welcome to ECF!

(Just found this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/583182-macigs-mactank.html - and per the post and the pic, that's it on a Tesla :) )

While there are many who love their cartos, in or out of tanks, there are some "tricks" to getting the carto properly filled and primed. If not done correctly, it's easy to burn the stuffing, at which time you will probably need to replace the carto to get rid of the bad flavor.

You might be ahead to look at any of the "clearo" style toppers, like the Kanger PT series, or equivalent. Easier to fill and maintain, nice vape, look great on a Tesla.

And rather than wait and search for the "ideal", why not just jump in with something like a variable voltage Ego type battery? While not replaceable - after a long bit of time, when the battery no longer holds a good charge you toss the whole thing - they have an initial outlay quite a bit lower (no extra batteries to get, charger is cheaper), work well, and are smaller.

And try some flavors at your local shop to find a few that taste good to you.

Then start vaping. Put the cigs in an unusual place, so they're not handy to get at, put your vape gear where you normally put your cigs.

It's a process for many, and the important part is to be in the process, and count the cigs you don't smoke :)
