This is my first post, but I've been lurking around and reading for a few weeks. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the videos and google searches. Many are self-serving. I'm a pack-a-day Carlton smoker.

The device I decided on is a Joy Ego. I want to be able to go for most of the day without fiddling around. I smoke about 6-8 cigarettes at work. I plan on purchasing today.

Great forum you've built!

The eGo is a great choice to start with, and many find it's all they need and stick with it. Lots of sites sell eGos and prices vary considerably. If you're wanting a genuine eGo try here 510 eGo XL Kit with Carrying Case. It comes with the larger XL 900 mah batteries and a case for a pretty good price. If you want something like a standard eGo consider the Riva here Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510. It's got 750 mah batteries and if you use the 20% off button in the top left corner and go with the lite bundle it'll run you right around $30 plus shipping. And don't forget to order juice and an extra atomizer or two at the same time wherever you purchase from.

Welcome to ECF. You've done your homework and I think you've made the right choice for you. Diffenately order from one of the online vendors listed on the forum and make sure you order extra juice and supplies. The initial order is usually the big hit on the wallet when compared to the price of analogs but it gets cheaper once you have the equipment. The hardest thing you'll find is finding which nic level is right for you. BTW the Ego comes highly recommended by a lot of folks here.

That is a great choice for a first PV,one that I always recommend to a new person who wants to start vaping, now there are different choices in the mah ratings of those. The mah rating determines how long the battery will last before recharging again, the higher mah the longer the battery will keep charged, 650 mah to 1000 or so out their.
And I suggest to pick up some extra atomizers including a LR 510 which will give you more vapor, and a nicer throat hit, along with a drip tip for the ego, and not all drip tips work on the ego call the vendor with asking them, and some E-juices, you will be set for a while with being pretty happy with your choice.
Also you can check out my show on Saturday nights 10 PM est I usually have vendors on who give away free products to the viewers, this Sat 4/2 will have a E-juice vendor on, and next Saturday 4/9 I will have a vendor giving away one 510 kit to a non-vaper for the purpose of getting them started. We have shows all day, and night long with a lot of free giveaways. See in my signature link below.

I think yours is an excellent choice.

I started with the eGo-T and am currently using an eGo with a cylinder type B LR atomizer and type B mega cartridge. It is working wonderfully, my wife is still using the eGo-T and is quite happy with that.

The advantage to your choice of an eGo ( or Riva ) is the battery size is large enough to handle a wide selection of parts. You can change parts of it out cheaply and try different things

Cartridges, Tanks, Cartomizers, LR atomizers, mega atomizers and carts, dripping etc

I personally think you are making the best choice for a new user.

You can't beat the eGo or Riva to start. You haven't mentioned what else you plan to get. I'll suggest a pack of Boge cartomizers and a drip tip. That's not much added cost and it gives you some more options.

Be sure that you get plenty of juice. Get it in small bottles and get a variety of nic levels. You'll have to find what you need by trial and error I'm afraid.

I can never find the top left 20% thing. I think you are special and get a personal discount.

Ahh - it either doesn't show up in Firefox or only shows up your first time there with a particular browser.

I see it in Internet Explorer
Doh - made me buy a Riva. I cannot resist a sale. With the sale it really is under $30 for that whole Riva lite bundle.

I've never seen that either. ECR69 worked for the discount for me.

I agree with the boge cartomizers. I would suggest some around 2.0 ohm (LR) 1.5 is not recommended on an ego, although I have used them. Welcome to the forum. I have since upgraded from the ego, but I still use my ego a lot. Usng it right now in fact, with an LR boge carto, and caramel cappuchino. Yum! The ego is a fine starter cig with great battery life, compared to the smaller, cigarette sized batteries which I could go thru 3 per day easy. Ego lasts most of the day, and is about the size of a swisher sweet cigar.

I'm stuck between the T and regular eGo. I'm thinking the T will be less hassle. the cylinder Type B LR atomizer and type B mega cartridge... do you have to add drops all the time? Where did YOU buy the atomizer and mega cart? CSKents post above has a nice starter 900mh kit with case. Does the mega cartridge let you refill like a "T"?

It was my browser - Firefox does not show it (I don't enable Active-X on Firefox etc). I opened Internet Explorer and FINALLY SAW 20% OFF after 4 months of looking for it, and that made me buy a Riva

Scooter - if the the member is new they cannot get or send PMs - I think you can do PMs after 5 posts/replies and an hour wait

Liberty Flights seems to be out of Boge cartos - look for them at LiteCigUSA.net

I don't really recommend mega carts and mega atty. Some people seem to have trouble with them and I think all of the other attys available w/ 510 threading would need normal carts, not mega carts. You are probably not going to use carts very long anyway. Most people prefer dripping and cartomizers. The tanks are new, you could always buy a tank atty and tanks later - some love them, some don't get good flavor out of them, some get leaks.

Let someone else chime in - I am just speaking from what I see others saying.
