So tonight I made 30 ml batches of honeydew creme, strawberry creme, honeydew creme, and strawberry pink lemonade. All 3mg nicotine, 20/80 pg/vg. I'm just curious on how long to steep them? I currently have them in a dark cabinet with the lids off, but I'm pretty excited about it. I read about speed steeping but I'm wondering if I should hold out until the ultrasonic cleaner I ordered gets here next week.

We're any of you guys nervous about trying your first batch of liquid? Because I kind of am...

They should all be decent shake and vape. They will sort of mellow over time especially the lemonade. The creams will be better with a week steep but can be vaped right away with good results

Careful how long you leave the caps off. I limit to 4 hours unless it is predominantly alcohol as the carrier fluid instead of pg. but that is my preference I know some go much longer. You can always uncap them more later. You can't recover from the caps off too long.

Are you cloud or flavor chasing and who's brand of flavor do you buy? Makes a difference in mix among other things.
Just, hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I will get back to this thread so I can read your answers.
I would say I'm an even mix between the 2. I like clouds, but I also like flavor. And my flavorings came from liquid barn.

I've noticed all my mixes do get better with time, but most are ready to go very quickly. As posted, it's the heavy creams and custards that seem to take at least a week. Cheesecakes can really need a good steep as well.

I try all my juices right after mixing, and many are putrid, some not so bad.

What happens if you DO leave the caps off too long? Far as I know, none of this stuff evaporates, except the alcohol that's in some flavorings...

Actually the flavorings are tiny volatile chemical compounds that can evaporate ( for lack of a better word) and leave the juice very flat and devoid of flavor if left open too long. This happens less with certain flavors than with others. Additionally environmental odors can leach into the juice and suddenly your juice smells like dryer sheets or stale closet smell?

I think all e juice regardless of flavor gets better with time , i NEVER leave the caps off , these days i "foam" my juice for the first few days after making it .

I use a Sawzall with adapters on the end that holds different size bottles , one trigger pull and your juice is instantly foamed , i then put the cap back on and put them away .

I used to just shake now and then but the foaming has greatly improved the juice for me.

The first juice I ever mixed came out OKAY... I was kinda nervous trying it, but was excited. It was just a single flavor Ecto-Cooler at 3mg at 70VG. I didn't measure well and it was closer to 5mg or 6+mg so the headrush on a .3 Ohm wide open RDA was... intense.
My honeydew cream came out awesome! It's really good. I haven't been able to put it down yet!

That is great to hear! I am still trying to get the flavoring down... It tastes like there is a SLIGHT flavor, but nothing in-yo-face. I have had budget juice that was mixed 2 days before I got it that had more flavor than what I'm trying to make. I just started last week too sooooo... Lots to learn :)

I agree. Just like everything else on ecf it boils down to researching alot. There is also a strong chance that I got really lucky. I have tried the other flavors I made on a dripper but they all need some time. I'm gonna make a lot of the honeydew cream tonight I believe so I'll have quite a bit of it. Haha.

Did you follow a recipe for that? Or was it something that really sounded good (which it does!) on paper? I find that the recipes that I follow from e-liquid-recipes always come out bland despite good reviews from the community over there.

I knew I wanted to make honeydew cream( my favorite adv) and I knew I wanted an 80% vg juice. When it came to the flavoring ,since it was my first time trying to make juice myself, I made it as simple as I could. I used 5% honeydew and 5% cream for an even 10% I mixed it at 3mg and voila! I'm in love. Haha.

So simple... It may just work! I'm going to give that a try tonight with an apple flavor I got, and sweet-cream and see what I get.Thank you! :D

Hey not a problem. I'm new at this as well but I'm always happy to help when I can. I let mine steep in a dark cabinet over night with the lid on. Probably around 18 hours total and then I tried it and it was good. I'm sure it will get better with age. Be sure to post back here or make a new thread so I can see how it turned out. Good luck man![emoji41]

Getting a great flavour on your first try is awesome! This is my 3rd time around vaping and each time I made my own juice.

I am still tweaking but know my favourites are the fruit flavours. I like the nuts, chocolate, and vanilla as well. For my taste, I definitely like a higher flavour content than the 5% that is recommended by a lot of veteran mixers to start testing with. 5% just does not do it for me, no matter what flavour I am mixing with; and I have tried a lot.
