After buying several mods, The Buzz, Bombshell, Swap Top, Old Goat bottom fever feeder, Spark plug 2 and Thermos I'm getting the Provari.

Special Edition Black, with extended cap too. Any thing I should know or look out for?

It was this or the Darwin, but that isn't totally ruled out yet either :)

Can I use my protected Trust Fire 18650 batteries? Is that a bad idea?

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Based on the way the mod works, you will definitely want IMR High Drains.

From the ProVape website:

"We recommend only using the IMR High Drain battery in the ProVari. These special batteries are rated to have a higher power output than non-imr batteries. Non-IMR batteries can't flow enough energy for the conversion circuitry in the ProVari. You can use non-IMR batteries in the ProVari, but since the conversion circuitry might become power starved, it might think it's dealing with a dying battery and turn off. The unit was designed to use the high drain batteries and we recommend using these for best performance."

I am also getting two IMR 18500's and two IMR 18650s (with the cap).

I was just wondering if I am ever in a pinch could the Li-Ions be used?

I think my ultimate goal is to switch out atty's (test them on the fly) and then change the voltage as necessary. I like switching out often especially with my Clearomizers to dripping.

I saw that these don't do that well with 1.5 LR Dual Coil Cartos. Bummer...

It's not that they don't do well, you just cant crank them up due to the safety feature of the Provari.
