My roommate recently bought a Vapor King at a store in one of our local malls and he really seems to enjoy it, so I decided to get an e-cig for myself and after doing some research online for a good deal I came across the madvapes site and decided to pick up a 510 Auto Kit. My question is how do they compare, and what should I know about the 510 in general- as far as usage and whatnot is concerned?

depends on what you mean by Vapor King.

There are vapor kings which are identical 510 clones, meaning theres no difference between your models.

There is also the Vapor King sold by Vapor4Life which is a totally different e-cig.

Have to know what you have to compare.
Having just looked at the V4L site and seeing that all of the Vapor Kings from there are marked V4L, I'm going to say that it's one of those clones you were referring to.

Hi moseIlla,
First, glad to have you here on the ECF Forum..
I believe what you are talking about (correct me if I'm wrong, please) is the KR808D-1 Series e-cig ur roommate has.
The one that is on the V4L site (battery) has a male threads and the one you got (battery) has female threads..
The (I will call it the 808) 808 has been around a while and has gone thru some changes. The 510 has been around too for a while and also has gone thru some changes (for the better on both).
The are both good e-cigs to start with. One (808) is a 2 piece and the 510 is a 3 piece. By that, I mean, is the 808 has the cartomizer (the atomizer built into the cart. hence the cartomizer or carto.) People find that one very easy to use due to the fast changing of the carto and no real mess with liquids. The 510 you have to refill the cart and can be messy @ times. Also with the 510 some people can drip (take cart off (no filler inside) and drip 2 or 3 drops of liquid directly on the atty).
Both are wonderful to use in MHO. I myself started on the 510 and I got my wife started on the 808.
As for the usage of the 510, specially with the Auto battery is to NOT drip while using the auto batt. there is a hole in the middle if the battery and liquid can easily find its way into it and you will have problems down the road. The manual battery would be the way to go if you want to drip. Also, the auto battery will go off if you blow air into the LED (front) area of it. The auto has a cut off which can be anywhere from 3 up to 10 seconds. (the older ones have the faster cutoff) The manual batts have no or a much longer cutoff (anywhere from 10 to 15 seconds) I myself like the ones with NO cutoff. The reason for the cutoff is so you do not ruin the atomizer.
Hope this helps and if anything else, please ask..

What is different between a 510, a 510, a 510, a 510 and a 510?

Can anyone really explain what makes one model different from another? Something other than the fan base they carry? I know there are small difference's like cut off times and manual vs. automatic. Yet all of those changes as well as the packaging can be done under one roof at one location in shifts. All parts are interchangeable are they not? The only real difference between any of the models that I have tried or have seen that others have is really just what label is on them? Is there any known 100% different feature?

I really ask this question because I have only been using an E-Cigarette since 12/25/09 these forums got me scared and I bought 4 e-cigs because I read batteries died and atomizers broke and this or that. I never want to go back to smoking analog cigarettes, so safe is 100% better then a cigarette relapse.

I have only had a single problem. I pushed a button inside of the tube on a manual battery and fixed it with a safety pin. So to date I have 6 batteries (2 automatic and 4 manual), 2 usb passthroughs and 6 atomizers. I have an e-cig in my mouth all day long and rotate between flavors and nicotine levels at different times of the day.

I live in Maryland.
Officials just tried to ban e-cigs and I am sure as more tax money is lost by cigarette smokers switching to e-cigs they will reintroduce the bill and or tax and take over e-cig sites and make them 1000% more expensive to purchase. So until I figure out how to build myself a good easy to make repeatedly mod I am going to stock up my sock drawer in-case of a ban.

I have found suppliers who sell what seems to be the same products 100% other then minor changes and some are 40% to 60% cheaper than the other and I can't see any differences. I currently own 4 different 510 "models"

I am not tossing names here, so don't PM me or ask me what models I have.
2 are sold as a 510 model under each makers name, 2 are not sold under a "510" model #.

Reason I think/know to ask is
I worked at an electronics store many years ago and also at a health food store as the ordering manager, I came to find out that many products being sold in Big Chain retail stores have identical products side by side both produced on the same assembly line or bottled right next to each other and being packaged different. One we could buy under an off brand name at 25% and the other went up in cost and demand based only on product name.
The manufactures were saving money by mass producing the products and selling 2/3rds for 25% and a 3rd for 100% of retail. The electronics never were fully outdated before they sold 90% of the products and then released new models and the Health food stuff never really expired.

Has there been a list compiled somewhere of the differences?

Has anyone ever tried to compile a list of the physical address each product is made? This would make it easy to see what's what. Not where the business is set up or from where products are sold but the physical location of manufacture.

I work for one of the largest advertising firms in the world and never heard of e-cigs until a month or so before I got one. This site alone says Copyright ©2000 - 2010
so there must have been reason to start it and that reason would be e-cigarettes. How has a product been out for ten years and the average person has never heard of them, seen them or used one.

I have seen some say made/produced in the USA
Where? That is a very loose statement on a product with no governing body. Are they production plants, assembly lines, packaging plants, shipping facilities? All of these types of plants can make a product loosely labeled as MADE IN THE USA. Are they open to walk through tours? I'd love to watch a product from start to finish. I watch how it's made on discovery all the time. It was awesome to watch a pencil be made from different items. I haven't used a pencil in a long time. That show made me randomly buy a pack of pencils last time I was at the store.

Anyone have their own personal usage history of different brands of the same models at the same time? No need to toss names. Any atomizer complaints have to be looked at person to person. Flooding, running dry, improper use and manual cleaning can all screw up your atomizers.

Have these questions already been answered somewhere else?

Is there an easy way to do a detailed search?
