I've got some aaa boxes coming in soon, they should be a challenge... The 3xAAA will make a nice small box for a 5 volter...

Got my order in today! Everything was perfect. Already built my first box mod using your how-to and it works great. Wow, I did not know what I was missing using stock batteries! The 14500's are awesome! The color changing led's are just too cool.

Thinking about making a homemade usb pass with the 1xAA box. Just FYI for everyone, the 1xAA box will not hold a 14500 (unless I am missing something).

Oh btw - the juice is great too!

Edit: I didn't read the full description on the 1XAA box. It requires a small mod to the box to fit a protected 14500.

Awesome, I love the success stories!!

So on the 1xAA box, the top positive terminal near the battery conn fits into two grooved little channel things.. Take out the connector, carve out the channel things and then epoxy the connector to the top of the box. You may have to take a little bit off the spring on the negative terminal, but that's optional depending on how tight of a fit you want with the battery. By moving the top terminal you can gain the mm you need to get a 14500 protected battery in there.

I'm doing another tutorial with the 1xAA box soon.. (as soon as the wife stops thinking I'm having an affair with my new drill press )

There's a small trick to get the insulating ring seated in the 510 connector but once you see it it'll be a doh moment.. I'm gonna do a tutorial on the 1xaa box tonight and I'll finish my 510 connector one also and post them on my site under the howto section.

Just wanted to say Thanks. Had to order batteries for a mod - had nothing but a number to go by - went to the recommended websites and was completely confused. Happend to come across a post for your site and VIOLA you had the batteries AND the charger I needed without all the confusion and the 2-3 week shipping time! The batts are still sitting here waiting for the mod to put them in, but I won't be the one sitting around waiting on the batteries for the mod!
Oh - and thanks for the little flashlight - Nice touch and an unexpected surprise!
