What wire are you using? How many wraps? Diameter of wraps?

A 1.5 ohm/1x coil . . . 28 ga. Kanthal wrapped around a 5/64" drill bit with 10 wraps.

A 0.6 ohm/2x coil . . . 28 ga. Kanthal wrapped around a 5/64" drill bit with 9 wraps per coil. If so desired, add 2 additional wraps to each coil for an 0.8 ohm/2x coil assembly.

For the above, I use Koga cotton pads for the 1x coil and Cotton Bacon cotton for the 2x coil. Coils sit fairly close to the deck above the bottom air inlet.

ETA: Please check for shorts, confirm and verify the resistance of your coil build prior to mounting and wicking on your mod . . . Enjoy.

I love my build on my Magma... Currently, I am using a 28g micro coil, 12 wraps, duel set-up. This brings you right to 1.0ohms.... The trick here is wrapping the cotton. It's important to leave those air holes open but get your cotton close enough to really enjoy the flavor. I wrap my cotton similar to they way you would wrap cotton on a dragon build and it works great.

I have to say after all the threads and posts about how wonderful the Magma is, I am not too impresssed YET. I have a dual coil build with 28ga, and its right about .7ohm. wicked with cotton, coils close to and directly above airholes. Using on my 4nine mech. It works ok, but i get a lot of "spitting" i would call it of juice into my mouth. Is there some secret with these to avoid this, or is that due to the design? I have tried maybe 5 different builds, and this one seems to have best vapor quality for me, but still this spitting. Sorry to hijack thread, but i just dont get it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, Chris, I don't really know what to say, as it appears that you and I share similiar builds.

I use both of mine with wide bore drip tips and have not encountered the "spitting" issue, yet.

Is your Magma made by Paradigm?

no. It is a clone. I have a wide drip tip as well, and the whole inside of it is full of juice after maybe 10 puffs or so. The inner dome of the top is also absolutely caked with juice every time I open it up. I don't expect it to be clean, but it is way more than my others seem to have built up. I was just wondering if everyone was ranting about the great flavor, because they were getting juice in their mouths. :) Maybe i just need to play around more with it, but I honestly don't know what to change to fix this. I was told the clone was pretty good, and i have compared to original, and doesn't look any different. I mostly just thought i would see if anyone else had this issue, or if I was just lucky. Thanks for the reply.

Okay, let's try this . . . Are your coils currently crud free?

What's your ratio ? I find that PG tends to pop more than VG .

check. Maybe half day use. Cotton not even dirty yet.

Yeah, my cotton wicks typically stays pretty clean.

I vape Bryce's Vanilla Custard in my Magmas. The said will gunk up the coils in about 3 to 4 days. When that happens, the flavor will drop off and it starts to get a bit messy inside. I just pull the wicks, perform a dry burn, re-wick and off I go.

I just wanted to thank all of you. I just rewicked and switched juices, and everything is fantastic. And i apologize again to OP for taking your thread. But now i can answer your original question. dual coils with 28g at 0.65ohm for me is PERFECT on this thing! Maybe 7 or 8 wraps on 5/64th drill bit? I now believe the hype. :)
