magnet button and my cell phone

I went down to the local b&m today and got a magnet conversion on my mod button and it got me thinking.

I always keep my mod in the same pocket as my cell phone. Do you guys think there's any risk with me having those magnets so close to my cell phone? Furthermore, more out of curiosity than anything else since my wallet goes in my opposite pocket, but do you think the button magnets could demagnetize the strip on a credit card that's inside my wallet?

Mobiles are not affected by standard magnets. Over time the magnetic strip of a credit card will become damaged with exposure to a magnet...

Magnetic fields drop quickly with distance. They also follow magnetic substances they encounter. There is probably not much that escapes they mod. If the mod is copper a bit more will escape but it will not bather the phone and the credit cards are more than safe in the other pocket.

Your cell phone will be ok because it takes a strong magnet to impair anything on the cell phone, but all that it would really do is just mess with the GPS, but only while the magnet is near the phone (probably wont even really affect it anyways from your conversion kit), but that would take strong magnet to mess with it and cause permanent damage.

As for your wallet with credit card, even though there are some barriers such as the wallet and the metal of your mod, it'd probably take some effort to actually make it demagnetize your credit card. But why risk it? credit card is too important to mess with.

Nope, I have and use a Manhattan, and the magnets on that thing are strong. Cell phone and credit cards are still in tact.

I totally agree. I'll definitely keep my mod away from my credit card lol. Better safe than sorry. Thanks everyone I've been walking around all day with my wallet and cell phone in the same pocket and my vape in the other because I thought it might be an issue lol. I have an HTC one m8. That's one full pocket hahahaha. Good to know I can put it back in with my vape.
