Magnets in switch turning black

I have a stingray clone from fasttech. My magnets keep turning black. What I the best way to clean that stuff off. I tried soap, alcohol etc.

I assume that it needs to be cleaned but how do you do it?

I'd use tooth paste. It's a mild abrasive. Then rinse it out good with water or alcohol.
