To bring 10ml of 3mg juice up to 12mg is 1.25ml of 72mg nic.
You are on the right track; but not quite there @Letitia. :)
I think(?) the added volume of the nicotine itself was not accounted for. Adding 1.25mL of 72mg/mL nic, to 10mL of 3mg/mL mix, will only result in 11.25mL of 10.67mg/mL nic.:

We can check the math:
10mL of 3mg/mL mix has 30mg of total nic available..............(3mg/mL X 10mL = 30mg)
1.25mL of 72mg/mL nic has 90mg of total nic available......(72mg/mL x 1.25mL = 90mg)
Giving us 120mg of total nic available.........................................(30mg + 90mg = 120mg)
For use in 11.25mL of liquid.....................................................(10mL + 1.25mL = 11.25mL)
That leaves us at 10.66667 mg/mL.....................................(120mg ÷ 11.25mL = 10.66667mg/mL)

Instead; @Zutankhamun should use 1.50mL of 72mg/mL nic to achieve a 12mg/mL nic (and account for the added nic volume):

We can check the math the same way:
10mL of 3mg/mL mix has 30mg of total nic available................(3mg/mL X 10mL = 30mg)
1.50mL of 72mg/mL nic has 108mg of total nic available........(72mg/mL x 1.5mL = 108mg)
Giving us 138mg of total nic available.........................................(30mg + 108mg = 138mg)
For use in 11.5mL of liquid...........................................................(10mL + 1.5mL = 11.5mL)
That leaves us at 12.0 mg/mL.................................................(138mg ÷ 11.5mL = 12.0mg/mL)

I hope that makes sense. :D

It does-ish.
Mathematics isn’t a strong suit of mine.

I had 3x10ml bottles so I threw them together and put 3.8 ml of 72 nic in.
It was a little weak though. I vaped some then put a bit more in to bring it up.
I couldn’t tell you the exact measure but it worked out in the end.

Thanks for the sums :thumb:

The addition of the 3.8mL (72mg/mL) to the 30mL (3mg/mL) gave you 10.76mg/mL. Not knowing how much your second addition was; I can't give you any idea what you ended up at. Glad to hear it's working for you.:)

You are so very precise unlike myself. For me the .25ml of nic is negligible at these mg. You are as always correct.:)

Sorry about that. For Dad "the engineer" close was never good enough.:D

I agree with you... I doubt I would be able to tell the difference of 1mg/mL.:D

@Zutankhamun , I'm glad you got the situation sorted out. For the future though.... Measure out what you "pour in" and write it down. At least then, you have some idea what you ended up with in case you ever need to do a "dilution/addition" of nic again. I mean, I'm sure you are totally fine if you aren't getting nic overload, but if you every have to do such "vape math" again, also write it down so the DIY math geniuses can tell you what you've wound up with. Some precision is useful.... absolutely no precision can be a bit useless as far as repeatability. If you have some way of figuring out "how much more" you added, based upon "how much is left" you could post that, and I'm betting a math whiz (I am not one, but I like my juice calculators) can probably tell you about how much nic you have in there. Etc.

Good to know the maths but i use Vapinghardware.com calculators. A lot quicker.
Good suggestion! I hadn't seen that site before. Bookmarked for future reference.:D

@Zutankhamun, for future reference, the NicShot Calculator is the one that will help you with what you were doing. Here is a screenshot of how you would set it up for your 3 10mL bottles combined:

Thanks.
I try my best to not make a habit of it.
My diy juice (always net) uses the same calculator and comes out perfect but I fancied something different at that moment so I had to go to the shop

They have the 12mg in various flavours but I fancied one of the quirky juices which in this case was 12monkeys but only 3mg so I had to add some of my own. Thanks though :thumb:

Another  I’ve only started my “tool” collection since vaping!
Now I have; precision screwdrivers, some form of wrench thingy for tight bits, a hex key set, a dmm, many syringes, glass bottles, a slow cooker and loads of cotton and kanthal.
Now some calculators.
Wait, is cotton, kanthal and a slow cooker tools?
Kinda, I guess...

Thanks a bunch
