¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You should probably get a scale with 0.01 resolution, not 0.1

Many at ECF, including me, use the American Weigh Scale (AWS) LB-501 scale. But you can buy whatever you want.

$37.19 - https://www.amazon.com/American-Wei...ywords=AWS+scale+LB-501&qid=1622562604&sr=8-2

Comes with AC plug, batteries, weights for calibration, hinged lid, & tray. 500g max and 0.01g resolution. Tare function of course.

im looking at the scales now, you think this one would be ok?

In my opinion, based on mixing by volume since I started DIY in early 2015....I'd skip the scale and spend a whole lot less on several syringes. Some people will post that mixing by volume is messy, takes longer, etc.,....but not the way I do it. I've taught at least a dozen other people to mix that way, too. Takes only a few minutes to make any size batch you want.

It's a super simple method of mixing, where you only measure the flavorings and nic base....not the plain PG and plain VG you'll put in your mix...yet it is the PG/VG ratio you want it to be when finished. If interested, PM me.

You'd be able to spend the $35+ on flavorings, PG, VG, etc. instead of on a scale.

In the end, assuming money is not a factor, mixing by weight or volume is a personal preference. I recommend anyone who is on the fence to watch the video on the blog post to make up your own mind (which OP seems to have apparently done already without any coaxing ;) )

Me? I hate mixing by volume for many reasons, one major one being it requires better eyesight than I have. Did it a few times becuase I bought a DIY kit that had the syringes and all that, but I immediately bought a scale after that. But that's just me. One's preference is one's own preference.

With the way things are Today, Looming USPS Ban, and where we are going, PMTA Drop Dead Dat on September 9th, I would heed what JCinFLA is say'n. And would use the Scale Money to buy More Hardware/Nic Base.

Unless Money is No Object.

If so, then...

IMO, it never hurts to let newbies to DIY know that there are other ways to mix by volume...than what's shown in the few, very old, outdated threads on the DIY Eliquid subforum that mention that method at all. Other people, in addition to me, have found new ways to simplify mixing by volume, that work very well, too.

I've always been in favor of newbies choosing whichever method works best for them personally. However, IF they don't know anything about other ways to mix by volume, except what's in those old pinned threads and old You Tube videos...they're not able to make a better informed decision.

I've used a scale forever. I'm always up for trying something new though. What's your method? It seems like this is the perfect place to describe it.

Not the best video, but the only one I quickly found that shows both mixing by weight and by volume in one video and not too bad at under 20 minutes. Lots of fluff you can skip through at beginning.

That "pellet" he put in the liquid before setting it on the machine is a magnet. Then there are magnets in the base of the machine that move around when you turn the machine on and voila, it stirs. Now on this I say save your money and buy flavors or more nic, unless you have physical disabilities that disallow you to shake or stir.

It'll take alittle while to take a picture or 2 of the few supplies I use and to write the simple steps of the directions. But...I'll be back to post it when finished.
