If being able to breathe is your goal, vaping is the pathway... 2 months ago I could barely run a city block without being VERY winded... today I can run a couple miles. Plus, I don't stink, dont have to constantly go outside to smoke, have a slowly returning sense of taste, can actually smell things (sometimes not a positive

), am spending a fraction of the amount of money I used to (though the first 6 weeks or so that wasnt the case as I experimented with equipment), and am far less woried that I might not see my kids grow up.
Vaping has been a god-send... 24 years I tried quitting- cold turkey, Welbutrin, Chantix, patches, gums, lozenges, licorice, you name it and I tried it. Nothing worked for more than a couple weeks... till I started vaping. 2 months on Sunday without a smoke and the urge to have one is just about gone- it pops into my mind a couple times a day but lasts a couple minutes and thats it.
Give vaping a chance, you- and those around you- will be glad you did.
Hey Guys, I am liking this thread. I too was able to quit smoking analogues- thanks wholly to Vaping (& ECF). Its been almost two weeks for me. I smoked rollies for 17 years (15 per day). I never, ever felt I could quit. So I just kept "putting off" quitting & tried not too smoke too many per day. But I so wanted to quit & was frustrated with myself that I couldn't.
Once I started Vaping- that was it- I knew I could quit analogues & I did. Simple as that. Because of Vaping, I no longer felt the desire or need to smoke. It was amazing. And, I must add that I am still only using a cig-a-like PV. I am waiting on an ego PV & I can't wait till it arrives.
Like Mike S71 said, 'Vaping is a God-send". Its a miracle in my eyes anyway. And your breathing will improve. I never knew what "shortness of breath" really meant until now. I can breathe so much better & I very rarely cough. I recently (before quitting analogues) developed a morning smokers cough, which worried me. And I felt tired & sickly often. Now- after nearly 2 weeks smoke free- I feel so much healthier & fitter. Like I'm in my twenties again.
Tips for the OP- Riley Martin & all newbie's re: the early stages of transitioning to Vaping. A) The first few days aren't hard, but you will feel odd for up to one week only. What I mean is, the psychological part of smoking takes a few days or more to get over. Like you keep reaching for your lighter or thinking unconsciously "time for a smoke"- after meals or in the morning etc. After you get over the habit/psychological part, it's pretty easy to stay on track. But you have to really want to quit the analogues. And it sounds to me that you really want to quit Riley.
B) The kind folk here at ECF are very knowledgeable, friendly & quick to reply to posts. But, try not to feel overwhelmed by the vastness of information. Keep reading & researching & set yourself a goal of say 2 weeks or 3 weeks before you say "I have quit". I was in shock a bit after quitting- like it took me a week before I could say "I quit"- even though I hadn't had one analogue in that whole time. I think that's because Vaping is so enjoyable & you don't have to suffer one bit in quitting analogues, since you'll be getting your nicotine.
So don't feel the need to rush things. Over a few weeks it will happen naturally for you as it does for most Vaper's.
C) Keep it simple to begin with. Contrary to many peoples beliefs, I feel that cig-a -likes are an invaluable place to start. I am using an Apollo Extreme cig a like. If you like cig-a-likes or disposables then that's okay too. I have succeeded in quitting the analogues with cig-a-like's alone. Though I am now (after 2 weeks of Vaping) so ready to try the next best thing with (an ego) because I want a better battery & a stronger vapor/flavor experience.
By the way. I love Baja, Classic Tobacco, Banana, Grape & Coffee Flavors. I cant stand French Vanilla at all & even though I bought 50ml of the stuff based on a reviews- I will be throwing it out. It's all trial & error. So try lots of flavors & at this stage I reckon you should go for the ready to go e-juices & not worry too much about PV/VG ratio's etc. Be open minded to on-line stores also. Without them I sould never have started Vaping, as we don't have any B&M stores in Australia
Good luck to you Riley Martin. Hang in there. Be patient & open-minded. You can do it. Remember keep it simple in the beginning.
