Oh; I was wondering about that 601 thing;

Well you might as well use the heck out of it while it works .

Yes, need to somehow get my moneys worth from this travesty. First I need to figure out how to rid the tank of the vile fluid that is residing within it. On the tank that came with my unit, the mouthpiece comes off but not the base. So, not really sure how I am going to approach this quite yet.

then it's a cup or a bowl and a kettle of hot water.

put to soak overnight in some hot water.

Personally, I keep a teacup right next to my electric kettle, and in that teacup I drop used atomizers or tank parts to clean, then whenever I hot water for a cupa coffee i put hot water in the cup to let stuff soak in some hot water.

Thanks again Edyle.

I think I am going to end up starting from scratch. I found out that this stupid Vapor-X doesn't use a standard threading pattern. It is close to the 510 but not quite. It's pretty ridiculous.

Seriously, see my earlier post with the links- you can get that whole eGo set-up for $50, its 510 and eGo threaded so no issues there and its VV so you can experience playing with voltages a little as you get into Vaping...

i would get some cheap disposable cartos until you think you have found a juice you like i try them on a rda before i put them in a tank to make sure i am driping a apple jolly rancher flavor right now that im pretty sure will never see one of my tanks but i love to try new flavors

Don't think I am going to find any cartos that fit this non-standard POS. But will keep your advice in mind once I get a better set up. As of now I am stuck with the 1 clearomizer I have because I am not going to order another. Once I cant use it this VaporX is going out the window!

We've all been there. 4 months ago I was new and completely overwhelmed. But day by day it sinks in and you find your niche and what works for you. I was able to quit analogs very quickly w/ what seemed like no effort at all. Just one day I realized I hadn't smoked a single stinky the previous day.
Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. Not too many forums out there where a noob coming in w/ his first post will get 10 pages of help and comments.
Good luck.

Yes I did check out the links, thanks for giving me those. I will definitely be going with an eGo. Saw one at the local B&M earlier this evening infact I just couldn't get myself to pull the trigger considering the money I had just spent on this annoying VaporX kit.

Hello again, I'm glad you're still plugging away even though it sounds like a total epic fail with your original set-up. So sorry to hear it If you do go with the eGo, look at the variable voltage one, the c-twist, which will give you some variation in your vaping without having to be a science nerd :D. You can basically just dial the bottom til it feels right. Plus almost every worthwhile tank will fit on it. The battery should cost you around 20-25 dollars depending on the place. A decent tank around 10-15 on average. You dont have to pay more than this for a good set up. I have had great success in cleaning out my top filling clearomizer even with nasty yukky juice in it. Soak it overnight in hot water, or white vinegar, or vodka. Rinse, shake out the excess water and let it dry for several hours. I had the worst, most pungent clove juice ever (what kind of hippie flashback was I having?) and got it out. Cheers for sticking it out.

If being able to breathe is your goal, vaping is the pathway... 2 months ago I could barely run a city block without being VERY winded... today I can run a couple miles. Plus, I don't stink, dont have to constantly go outside to smoke, have a slowly returning sense of taste, can actually smell things (sometimes not a positive ), am spending a fraction of the amount of money I used to (though the first 6 weeks or so that wasnt the case as I experimented with equipment), and am far less woried that I might not see my kids grow up.

Vaping has been a god-send... 24 years I tried quitting- cold turkey, Welbutrin, Chantix, patches, gums, lozenges, licorice, you name it and I tried it. Nothing worked for more than a couple weeks... till I started vaping. 2 months on Sunday without a smoke and the urge to have one is just about gone- it pops into my mind a couple times a day but lasts a couple minutes and thats it.

Give vaping a chance, you- and those around you- will be glad you did.

Hey Guys, I am liking this thread. I too was able to quit smoking analogues- thanks wholly to Vaping (& ECF). Its been almost two weeks for me. I smoked rollies for 17 years (15 per day). I never, ever felt I could quit. So I just kept "putting off" quitting & tried not too smoke too many per day. But I so wanted to quit & was frustrated with myself that I couldn't.

Once I started Vaping- that was it- I knew I could quit analogues & I did. Simple as that. Because of Vaping, I no longer felt the desire or need to smoke. It was amazing. And, I must add that I am still only using a cig-a-like PV. I am waiting on an ego PV & I can't wait till it arrives.

Like Mike S71 said, 'Vaping is a God-send". Its a miracle in my eyes anyway. And your breathing will improve. I never knew what "shortness of breath" really meant until now. I can breathe so much better & I very rarely cough. I recently (before quitting analogues) developed a morning smokers cough, which worried me. And I felt tired & sickly often. Now- after nearly 2 weeks smoke free- I feel so much healthier & fitter. Like I'm in my twenties again. :)

Tips for the OP- Riley Martin & all newbie's re: the early stages of transitioning to Vaping. A) The first few days aren't hard, but you will feel odd for up to one week only. What I mean is, the psychological part of smoking takes a few days or more to get over. Like you keep reaching for your lighter or thinking unconsciously "time for a smoke"- after meals or in the morning etc. After you get over the habit/psychological part, it's pretty easy to stay on track. But you have to really want to quit the analogues. And it sounds to me that you really want to quit Riley.

B) The kind folk here at ECF are very knowledgeable, friendly & quick to reply to posts. But, try not to feel overwhelmed by the vastness of information. Keep reading & researching & set yourself a goal of say 2 weeks or 3 weeks before you say "I have quit". I was in shock a bit after quitting- like it took me a week before I could say "I quit"- even though I hadn't had one analogue in that whole time. I think that's because Vaping is so enjoyable & you don't have to suffer one bit in quitting analogues, since you'll be getting your nicotine.

So don't feel the need to rush things. Over a few weeks it will happen naturally for you as it does for most Vaper's.

C) Keep it simple to begin with. Contrary to many peoples beliefs, I feel that cig-a -likes are an invaluable place to start. I am using an Apollo Extreme cig a like. If you like cig-a-likes or disposables then that's okay too. I have succeeded in quitting the analogues with cig-a-like's alone. Though I am now (after 2 weeks of Vaping) so ready to try the next best thing with (an ego) because I want a better battery & a stronger vapor/flavor experience.

By the way. I love Baja, Classic Tobacco, Banana, Grape & Coffee Flavors. I cant stand French Vanilla at all & even though I bought 50ml of the stuff based on a reviews- I will be throwing it out. It's all trial & error. So try lots of flavors & at this stage I reckon you should go for the ready to go e-juices & not worry too much about PV/VG ratio's etc. Be open minded to on-line stores also. Without them I sould never have started Vaping, as we don't have any B&M stores in Australia

Good luck to you Riley Martin. Hang in there. Be patient & open-minded. You can do it. Remember keep it simple in the beginning. :toast:

I feel like I might have rushed into this. I have already spent as much as I would on cigarettes for the month just getting the kit. And from the sound of it I don't even have enough equipment to thoroughly enjoy vaping. I probably should have done more research before making any purchases but I was in a rush to get off the cigs. Feeling pretty discouraged that it seems I haven't done anything but waste money up to this point.

Maybe I will take a month to just read and research here and then give it another go.

Don't feel discouraged Riley. I felt a bit that way when I first started to look into e-cigs. But after researching PV's they aren't as difficult to understand than you may feel. A lot of people here are very experienced & you may be confused by the lingo. I was at the beginning.

I think you just need a few nice tasting e-liquids & realize that it will take a little bit of time to do some research, before you fully understand the lingo. It took me a good few weeks to feel like I understood PV's (coils, atomizers, ohms...); but I haven't a clue about mods etc. And most of the time I don't understand the references to equipment here.

I highly recommend you contact the company where you bought your Personal vaporizer from. Do they have a website or customer service phone number?

I Researched Vaper company websites before I bought e-cigs/PV's & found that to be very helpful. I also asked lots of questions... via email & online chat support. Also I found You tube to be invaluable.

Hang in there. It does make sense in time...

You will eventually get a larger set up. I would suggest an Ego-C-Twist which will fit almost all ejuice delivery systems. And you can adjust the voltage which is something you want. I started with a twist and will be getting a Provari soon. On my 3rd week of vaping and haven't wanted 1 cigarette. Once you find that right flavor your set. My favorite is Gorilla Juice from avejuice.com, it's a tobacco flavor with a hint of banana and a smokey taste to it. Vape on!

I had to find out the hard way the local shops around me dont have much of a selection. I dumped alot of $ on cheap juices that dont have flavor. Had to start ordering them, however, one local B&M just started carrying Halo so things might be looking up. Also, Loranne oils is right down the road from me so I may get into DIY flavors.

If you do not mind a little bulk, MPV Energy (battery) and a Protank 2 is a great setup. It will also be a kit that you will not throw away because MPV has a great build in battery. I tell myself if the device broke, I still have a portable power pack to charge my phone :)

Since I have 3 setups now, I use a Mini Protank on the MPV for liquid testing.

Hello Riley_Martin,

sample, sample, sample.
i lucked out and did my starter kit with Halo ... which i believe is very very safe to say "known" for their joose.
Halo is not the cheapest, but the flavors most people find at least 1 they like in their sampler.
the joose hunt is the most elusive. everyone's taste is subjective. there is not right or wrong, no true no not true.
Just gotta keep sampling.
And, i agree with the comment that was made, many of the disposables taste good ... i had at least 5 different disposables and they were all good to great. (favorite disposable is the Swisher sweet and i have not yet found it's equivalent from the vendors and it's my current hunt).

And a note if not already spoken and it would seem you are not going down this road ... you won't be able to find an "exact" cigarette taste. There may be flavors out there that remind you of some cigarette, but i doubt it would really "hold up". Pipe or cigar smoke, have a closer chance. Coffee... there's gotta be some good ones out there, i've only found "okay" ones. Tea ... seldom searched after. Fruit, probably the most successful when people go flavor hunting. Bakery goods flavors seem to have many successful hits too. Floral... now this is something i'd be interested in looking for at some point down the road. Why just vape if you can get aromatherapy at the same time? hah.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have to say I am overwhelmed with all the information available here. You guys seem to really know your stuff. I just hope I can figure this whole thing out. I consider myself an intelligent individual but right now I feel like I got myself in over my head.

Decided to make the switch and get off the Marlboros, analogs you call them? Anyways went to my local smokeshop which after coming here I discovered was mistake number 1. The nice guy did set me up with a refillable pen that seemed to have good reviews. It is a Vapor-X XLT. Anyone have experience with this unit?

Before I bought this refillable I had bought a L.A. Vape disposable in "Victory Berry" flavor and it was amazing (though they don't last long the taste is top notch!). Upon buying my new pen I filled it with a VODA Vapor liquid and it is unbearable! It tastes so chemically!! Is this common with bad brands? Is there anything anybody can recommend that is comparable to the L.A. Vape disposable? Thanks for any help guys. I really want to get away from the Marlboro man. We have been friends for long enough...

I am new here and am also overwhelmed with all the information that is available to me. I was thinking the same thing as you at first and was dependent on cigarettes to get me through the day, but one day I decided to take the plunge. I never went back and am loving the vape.

Like you I started with a disposable, and it wasn't bad at all. Then I started asking around and doing research and I eventually bought a Kamry K100 mod (which holds the battery) with a Nimbus clone atomizer (a rebuildable drip atomizer). I can't get enough of it. I don't know if there are vape shops in your area, but they are popping up everywhere in Houston, TX.

There was some trial and error but I'm happy with the current results

Hey Riley
After reading the posts following my last post I under stand the situation better, it sounds like you want to give up on e-cigs don't.
I almost bought a Blu e-cig kit for $80 which probably would have discoursed me also. but was lucky enough to go to the shop I went to. I haven't smoked since. The cost of buying the equipment can get expensive but it lasts a long time (I still have and use my original evods ) the kit I am talking about has 2 setups which is important in case one has a problem you don't want to go back smoking, It also has 5 replacement heads which last a long time if you soak in vodka and dry burn (look for vids on you tube ) it a very good well made low cost starter kit to get you going. The only other thing you need is e-juice which is probably best if you find locally (but not from the store you went to) so you can get more when you need it buy some tobacco flavor like RY4 to try and a couple others. Buy small amounts till you find what you like Juice is 6-8 per bottle. you will spend $50 - $60 but that will take the place of a couple of carton of cigs and the evod kit is still good to go for a long time with the extra coils you just have to buy juice. I have started making my own juice it costs some to get started but I can make it for about 80 cents for a 10ml bottle and I really enjoy doing it.

Move on from your last purchase and give it a another try

here is a link on ebay I don't know seller but it doesn't look counterfeit and the looks ok
