pretty much. They just look a little different and some are adjustable (more expensive). I use regular ego batteries. 2 450 mah and 1 1100 mah. Very simple to use and they works fine for me as a new user.
I would want a VV/VW model down the road but it is good for now and they give me more than enough run times and the cartomizers give me good VAP. My taste in VAP have not evolved to such that I need the more advance stuff as of yet!

Good luck with your search. I ordered some from DX and fasttech and they are just generic. Looks and works great for me.

I've been using Halo Batteries (900mAh) and eGo-C Upgrade Batteries (650mAh) for many weeks. I am also moving away from Halo due to lack of compatibility. I've been happy with the eGo-C batteries, but have recently acquired a C-Twist, which I will definitely move towards. I've learned that changing Voltage can make a difference on how the Liquid tastes. Some liquids taste good at lower Voltage/Wattage while others are better at higher settings. Definitely for me the Twists are the way to go. They cost a little more than the other eGo batteries, but really not all that much more, and IMO are worth it.
