Not wanting to wait for her transportation alone for two hours my daughter,Adena (the one with cerebral palsey and wheelchair bound) called on her brother and sister to meet her at the local university hang-out The Frontier (famous for their cinnamon rolls and red chili burritos).Running back to her car to get her purse Elaine literally ran into none other than Adam himself! Flustered by this run in she stammered out that her wheelchair bound sister was inside and was a big fan and could he possibly come in to say a quick hello. He responded by saying he had to go get ready for a shoot but would try.Well no less than 10 minutes later he came into the Frontier and came to their table where he sat and talked with them for 15-20 minutes about the show and other small talk. Thank goodness for cellphone cameras as photos and hugs were shared along with a couple of pics by the Travel Channel photographer. Had they not came home with the pics on their cameras I would'nt of believed them LOL!!! Adena is going to try to get the pics up on her Facebook page. I just wanted to share and let it be known that in my book Adam is an alright guy for taking the time to make this a special day that 'Dena (her sis and 'lil bro also) will remember for a long time! Have a great evening everyone!:)

Awesome~! I like that show but sometimes it makes me hungry~!

I used to work at Colorado Steakhouse in South Bend, IN (Mishawaka actually but they are one and the same). Muhammed Ali lives in Berrien Springs, MI about 30 minutes away and I got to wait on him one day when he came in to eat~! Age and many blows to the head have made him slow down considerably but he was very nice, and funny~! He threw a couple punches at my roommate Adam who was hosting that day. Poor Adam didn't have a clue who he was at first and thought he was just some crazy old guy!

I met the Bulletboys and Great White on a flight to LA when I was 13 and got autographs. They were very nice to a 'teenage groupie', lol

Oh, I also got to be involved with an interview with Sean Astin for our high school television cable program. TV production was my favorite class besides choir! I ran camera 2 and did the editing for the portion that was recorded out of the studio. This was wayyy before Lord of the Rings, lol. I think it was right after he did Rudy which filmed at Notre Dame 30 miles from us. We chatted a little and he was really nice too. His wife lives here so he visits often. He was in our 4th of July parade last year and seemed just as friendly as ever.

I got to buy Muhammed Ali and his driver lunch when I was a manager at the Burger King in roseland(basically South Bend)Indiana. He came in because the BK in Niles kicked him out for the stir he was causing. He must have signed 20 autographs for the crew that day.
When I was younger I handled an Old English Sheepdog at shows for a Dallas Cowboy, whose name I forgot now,but he was also really nice and gave great bonuses

I saw Dennis Franz out with his family at the Paseo Nuevo mall in Santa Barbara. It was pretty obvious he just wanted to spend some time with his family, but he got mobbed with fans. He just told his wife to take his daughter and he'd catch up to them later, then turned to the fans, all smiles, and chatted, posed for photos, and signed autographs. I think he handled it graciously and generously.

I've always thought that would be the hardest part of being a celebrity - losing all privacy.

I was taught how to play guitar (and English) by Marv Ross of Quarterflash (a one-hit wonder band from the 80's) before they were famous - he was a teacher at a middle school in Bend Oregon. That's about it f2f. I have spoken to Harrison Ford and several other celebs on the phone, I used to work for Bridge City Toolworks, a local maker of fine woodworking tools. When it comes to thier hobbies, they make the calls themselves rather than delegate.

I love watching Man V Food, but like Lynlee, I get hungry watching lol. He comes off as a real good guy - nice to hear that he's the same in person!

Great story kittycat! I every now and then watch his show and although I get indigestion from watching it, I enjoy it!

Having lived in NYC much of my life and working there too, I had a few brushes with celebs. These 2 are my favorite stories.

John Belushi

My ex is a tax accountant and he did a favor for a co-worker. The co-worker managed to get 4 tickets to the Pirates of Penzance on Broadway as thank you gift. The show starred Kevin Kline and Linda Rondstadt. My ex and I originally started to watch it in Central Park during that summer but we were rained out so this was going to be super cool. It was double date. with his co-worker and his girlfriend.

We went out for a wonderful Indian dinner prior to the show and then we went to the theater. It turned out that the tickets were orchestra center, row 3. All during the performance, we had actors and actresses coming into the seating area, and a few times I had Kevin Kline performing next to me. Sighhhhhhhhh... But that isn't the only thing that made this such a cool "date". We discovered during intermission, John Belushi and Danny Aykroyd were a few rows behind us as was the group Kiss! At intermission Belushi was in the hallway and he was being flooded with fans wanting his autograph. Danny Aykroyd was hiding in the back area of the hallway. lol! The woman that we were on the double date with wanted to meet Belushi and was too shy. My ex took her over, introduced her to John and John looked at my ex, like, am I supposed to know you? lol! I then went over to John just to tell him how much I appreciated his work, he looked into my eyes, grabbed my hand and didn't stop shaking it and kept saying thank you. I actually had to pull away when the bell rang reminding everyone to be reseated.

Richard Rogers of Rogers and Hammerstein

I worked as a bookkeeper in a prestigious law firm and we had several floors in a beautiful old building on Madison Avenue. When they expanded even more, they took a few offices on a lower floor and the bookkeeping department along with some lawyers were moved down there. On the floor above, Richard Rogers had an office. I saw him frequently and never invaded his privacy. One day, as I'm getting into the elevator to go out for lunch, he's on it and the elevator stops at the next floor and a young woman gets on. As the elevator is going down, first she starts to hum and by the time we're at the lobby, she is belting out what ever song she was singing. Richard Rogers and I just looked at each other and laughed. :) I guess that was one way to try to get an audition! :)

I've waited on Johnny Bench (meh) Pete Rose (meh) & Oscar Robertson (Dad's still mad I didn't get his autograph - he's why my Dad got a D in German in college - skipped homework to go watch him play for UC) who was a total gentleman and THE definition of class.

I shagged baseballs for Barry Larkin when he was in conditioning for the US Olympic Team and still playing ball in college. Years later ran into him at a local Mall with his mom. What a nice guy.

Ran into Nick Lachey at a local ice cream place. VERY nice. Post Jessica right before his brother was on Dancing with the Stars.

And I missed George Clooney at a local restaurant by **this*much**. lol But I'll have more chances - he's filming here soon and I've applied to be an extra (blush)

I was a waitress back in the early 80's. I waited on Bum Phillips. He was very gracious and signed autographs for anyone that asked. I still have that autograph somewhere...

When I was about 18 months old, we lived in Hawaii. Too bad I was too young to remember it. Mom got home movies of Elvis at Hanauma Bay. He was there filming Blue Hawaii. My parents had decided to take us swimming that day, having no idea Elvis was there. It's pretty cool to watch the home movies. Dang, he was handsome!

Friends own a smaller concert venue in a town near us and they are some pretty good bands that come there. There is almost always a private picture or autograph opp with the bands and occasionally I get to meet them. The best night was when The Beach Boys came to town and John Stamos played with them. John came into the 'after' club and played with the band for at least an hour. He then signed autographs. Bob Seger sat a few rows behind us for that concert.

When my oldest daughter was six she landed a part in 'Showboat'. Donald O'Connor was 'Uncle Andy'. It happened to be Christmas so we had a Christmas party and he bought everyone in the show a beautiful glass with the name of the show, the date, and their name. He gave them out personally to everyone in the show. I have a collage hanging on the wall of all the pics.

Met Dom Deluise outside of a restaurant at a mall, he was in town doing a Rice Diet. Really nice guy, very polite and humble. Worked with Jon Reep ( comedian/actor ), very funny and super nice guy. Did a show with Jeff Dunham, funny but nothing like he is on stage, pretty much a jerk. Didn't work with him but met Brian Regan, hilarious guy and as nice as they get. Met Kareen Abdul Jabar on a flight, couldn't really get much of a feel, we were all ticked off at the flight. Met the current Pink Floyd band, talked with Dave Gilmour before his show for about 10 minutes, much more down to earth than you would expect, very friendly and not egotistical at all.

Not a huge celebrity but if you watch poker on TV at all, you probably know who Daniel Negreanu is. I went by The Mirage in Vegas a few years ago to watch some of a major tournament that was going on there that week and Negreanu was just standing there having just finished playing for the day. I said what the hell and went up and talked with him for about 5 minutes. He was a surprisingly nice guy and very talkative. He had a small dog in a bag around his neck. :)

I watched an interview once with Dolly Parton were she explained her feeling on celebrity. She basically said that when she goes out she always dresses like Dolly because she feels like she owes it to her fans. They made her life great with their support and their spending so she is always happy to give them back some kindness and part of that is signing autographs and posing as the Dolly they have come to love. I thought she was great for saying that.
