This has me puzzled, why do most people not use flush cutters instead of nail clippers, that is what they are meant for.

You know until I actually got some I simply used them because I had 7 laying around the house :p, I'm really glad I got some when I first used them on 24ga wire, but I will say that they do the same job, one thing I liked about nail clippers is that they are curved, so when you have circular posts they conform/wrap around them and give you that ultra flush cut. I think most people just don't want to go out and buy some pliers though, they really are convenient and last a lifetime.

I don't miss how nail clippers dull though! And the pointed tip on flush cutters really helps you get in there.

Nice, I didn't see those on fast-tech, there's a site that's selling those exact ones for $30! Another example of ripping off vapers! I probably would've gotten those but I didn't want to wait anyway :p, I saw some awesome carbon fiber tweezers with flat heads for 7.99 on ebay! I just got the horotec swiss ones because they will will last forever I hear, and are flat at whatever angle they close at.

having 2 nail clippers work for me, i keep the older one for cutting wire and the new one for cutting cotton only.

i also keep two tweezers one that has more of a point on the end for pulling on cotton the other one that i use to use for compressing coils which i dont do anymore so they are handy for picking up o-rings, counting wraps etc ...reason i dont compress>>Tension wrapping micro coils - YouTube

mini jet torch
needle nose pliers
1/16 screwdriver and drill bit
big 1mm od safety pins
Locking Forcep's and a small 2" c-clamp are handy for twisting or braiding wire, holding a few strands in a row.

a pair of scissors with plastic handles, you can drag wire across plastic to get the kinks out prior to wrapping, i didnt realise untill i started looking at jewelry vids for braiding and going to jewelry tool sites that they use plastic in a similar way https://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/tools/pliers-flat-nose/pliers-plastic-jaws-bergeon-6143#select

But most important thing of all is my buddy >> MULTI-METER << my best friend :)

That's genius! I just tried and I keep getting overlapping, but I can definitely tell I'm getting it. Is their any trick to how you position the drill bit? I just tuck it between the coil and wrapping drill bit.

~Feel free to message me, I gotta learn this!
