I ordered 2 of them on 09/10/09 and started using them a couple of days ago and here is what I found:

I am not happy with them!!!

This has nothing to do with RockyMountainVapor.com, but everything to do with how they are manufactured/created. RMV is a great company. Great service, fast shipping and good prices.

There is a lot less power in the draw when using either one of the batteries.
The manual button is very hard to push (compared to my 510 or 901 manual batteries) and when pushing hard enough to get a fairly decent draw (still nowhere near the draw of an automatic DSE801 battery) the button tends to get stuck inside the opening. For that reason it is not a pleasant battery to use since one has to be fairly "pushy" to push the button.

In addition, as you can see from my attached pictured (though a little hard to scan for sure) the white inside button that is supposed to be pushed by the outside black rubber button is not in the center of the opening so the outside black rubber button only pushes on the very side/edge of the white inside button! The battery in the photo is worse than the other manual battery I got, but the white inside button that one is not in the center either, but not as bad as the one in the photo.

If you are having problems with yours, check the alignment of the white inside button.

Just wanted to share my observations

I am going to contact RMV to see if I can an exchange for at least one of the manual batteries to an automatic battery.

Must be some bad luck/batch...I ordered 2 and a few weeks later 2 more and I'm quite happy. Yes, the draw is a little harder, and the button is quite hard to push (which I personally like) but the POWER is amazing ....and no more fuss with early cutoff and gunked up auto-switch.... for me... after manual there is no way back to auto....

Talkto RMV I'm sure they figure something out for you.

Just my $.02,

Chris

I had a similar experience with my first manual batt.(Which Dave replaced without issue.) The two I have now (also from RMV) have been working great. Never had an issue with power on any of these though.

Two questions.
One, with the black plunger inserted, would it sit just a milimeter or so out of the barrel of the battery, or noticably stick out about 2.5mm?
Two, is the center of the battery rotating inside the barrel when you screw it onto the atty?

The 'bad' battery I dealt with had a shallower plunger, and after a week started rotating inside the barrel, bringing the switch out of alignment as shown in your pic. The new ones have been solid, no rotating, with taller plungers.
