I know this is mainly personal preference but I was wondering what other people's expierence was on this. I currently have been using 78mm automatic batteries and have been happy with them except for battery life. I'm looking at ordering an X2 for using around the house and then just using my 78mm when I go out since they are smaller and easier to carry.

The one thing that I can't decide on is whether to get a manual or automatic battery. Is it difficult to start using a manual when you are use to an automatic and is it difficult to switch back and forth between the two?

You’ll love the X2 batteries. The 78mm batteries I had and a carto didn’t put out as much vapor as the Mistic ecig I was using, but when I got an X2 battery and an X2 clearo… whoa… what a difference. I haven’t used the Mistic since.

As for auto versus manual, the clearos were leaking a little liquid onto the battery, and I was paranoid about ruining an auto batt so I switched. Manual batteries aren’t hard to use, but switching back and forth can be a pain. Whenever I use an automatic battery now, I’m always trying to find the button. You might not have any problem with it at all.

I have used both kinds and prefer my automatics because to me it is more like a reg cig. The x2 is bigger but I still prefer the auto in that too. I have had a few leaks and as long as I wipe it off good never had a problem. As far as switching back and forth, every once in awile I would pick up my manual and it would take a few seconds to remember to fire it but no big deal.

I started with the 65 and 78 auto volts and still use them when I'm out, especially driving because I don't have to feel around for the button. Now I have the manual X2s and spinners. It took some getting use to but they seem to have that added "push" that you don't get with automatics.

As Ajan stated above, holding the button for a few seconds before inhaling gives more satisfying flavor and vapor that you don't get from auto's. Also you don't have to worry as much about getting liquid inside of the manuals. There are benefits to having both in your collection.

I started on the auto as most I'm guessing probably do, Bought the manual just to try it and now my autos sit collecting dust. Its a little hard to explain other than to say you have more control over each puff, you can push button early or you can let go early and push again with same draw, like I said its hard to explain. you should try the manual, you can always by another later. sorry to confuse you even further :)

I think several have already chimed in here about it, but I find that the auto feature on the smaller batteries to be great for convenience. Don't expect a lot of life from a 220mAh battery, though - it's obviously limited - but they're great to grab and go. Better yet if you have a case or something that keeps all the stuff you need in one place.

The X2s or the Spinners? Whole different ballgame - and I'd say manual is probably the best way to go here. You get used to using the button quicker than you'd expect. You've got the advantage of being able to fire before you actually use it so older coils get warmed up and vape a lot better. Dry burning is an added bonus.

Thank you everyone for your advise. I pretty sure I'm going to go with a manual when I order. I love my 78's when out and about as they are easy to put in my pocket and work great while driving! I've got 2 in rotation at home but I need more battery life. Now for SI to get more clearo's and replacement heads back in stock and I'll be set to order :)

When I first got my starter kit from another company I got an auto and a manual. I did not like the manual and traded with my mom for her auto. Ordered a Volt 78mm in auto as a back-up. After getting an X2 I have a new found love for manuals. I have since ordered another 78mm but this time in manual. Rarely use any of my autos except for quick puffs around the house.

Got my manual X2 in the mail today and absolutely love it. Took all of 2 seconds to get use to pressing the button. What surprised me is some of my e-liquid takes different than when I use them on my 78mm autos. I pulled the CE3 off my auto and put it on the manual when I got it and the flavor was different. Not good or bad different but just different :) I may have to try some of the ones I didn't care for again.

I got mine, too. My flavors are more alive. They are also more consistent, because I have better control over the heat. I prefer to cycle it on and off slowly during a draw, I get a great mouthful, without the burned taste.

Couldn't agree with you more!! This is something that I just started doing recently and was totally amazed at the amount of flavor that you get. :)
