Got it! Thanks. Somewhere I got the idea that the internals of the CE2 needed to be modified to work in the MAP tank. Glad to find out it's plug in. I gotta gross of um. Been lucky with not having leaking/cracking problems with any yet, but, what you think the odds are I'll get through a gross of um without having the problems almost everybody else I've read about have had? I figure slim ta none. JMHO

Cheers,

I have had my map for a couple of days...... Is there any easy way of replacing the E2's once they need cleaning? I have watched videos etc. Tried to pull my first one out and destroyed the E2 and broke the welds of the metal piece.... How are you guys doing this?

Interesting I never had any problems just pulling out the E2 with an ego. Hopefully someone chimes in for other ways :)

I have cleaned mine several times ( I clean it every time I re-fill ), and I don't even take the CE2 out of the bottom plug.
Just pull off top delrin plug and lexan cylinder leaving bottom delrin plug and CE2 assembled. Clean whole assembly
under hot tap water ( I like to un-twist the wicks a little so the water runs through them good ) and flush water through
the ceramic cup. Carefully dry off assembly and squeeze the wicks in some paper towels, then do a dry burn to get the
crud off the coil and you are ready to re-assemble and fill with juice. ( generally takes me less than 5 minutes )
I have noticed a little black residue in the ceramic cup that would be hard to clean out without possible damage to coil,
but during one of my forays in the drugstore looking for parts I remember seeing some bristly little picks for cleaning
braces that I think would be perfect.
I'll give it a try and let you all know.

I do mine the same way, with the exception of the brace pick, may have to try that

I need the "modders" to get to work and develop a way that I, (and everybody else that has them), can use "cut" or "removed" clearo's to rebuild my MAP Tank. You see, I was so thrilled with the clearo, (the first one I used), that I ordered a gross of the things. Who knows why, prolly my paranoia over possible banning. Or, just the fact that I'm a cheap sob, and tend to bulk buy everything. My best way out is to somehow use um. Prolly best way is in the MAP. If it's just a matter of Clearo's being a slightly smaller diameter, seems some bright modder could find a filler barrel/shim that would allow them to be used in the MAP. The Pirate can't keep up with the plugs he's already making, need somebody else to chuck up a 64th smaller bit, (or the proper size), and offer special plugs for Clearo in MAP users. JMHO

Here's a mod of a mod that will accomplish 2 things.
- You'll have a mini map tank
- It will fit on any PV that needs extra clearance, or has a recessed connection, without the need of an adapter

Normally you would cut the XL CE2 so that you have about 3/8" left of the outer housing,
instead, cut it off so that you have 7/8" of the housing still on the threaded end.
Then cut 1/2" off of the Lexan tube.

Now, when you put the bottom Delrin plug onto the CE2, leave 1/2" of the CE2 sticking out the bottom.
When you put the rest of the tank together, the ceramic cup should go into the top plug like normal.

Now you have a mini map tank with 1/2" of carto sticking out the bottom for clearance on any PV.
And you won't have to stock up on regular CE2's just to use a mini map tank. ;)
