I have a regular MAP tank with a 3.3ohm reading. I'm having a hard time getting a nice vape from it. I'm using it on a ProVari and have vaped it at every setting from 3.5V all the way up to 5V (yuck, burnt). When I got the MAP I didn't wash it or do anything other than fill it up to 3/4 full. I'm not getting much flavor at any setting. I'm wondering if I should empty it and wash the wicks and coil?? Any tips or advice would be great, thank you :)

I have the same setup you're using, MAP tank, 3.2oHm, on a ProVari.

Not sure why you're having a problem. I've been using it for about a week, and just ordered some replacement CE2's and an additional MAP tank as a spare, because I really love it!

As hairball mentioned, I will ocassionally roll my ProVari/MAP, when the juice gets below 1/3 full, to provide more juice to the atty, but with a pretty full MAP tank, I haven't found it necessary.

Hopefully, trying out Hairball's other suggestion (which I didn't find I needed to do, personally) will solve your issue, because this combo is really fantastic!

ALL DAY vapping, great battery life, excellent flavor! Not sure what more I could ask for!

Thank you so much! I took it apart, washed the wick, dry burned the black off the coils and clipped the little cap. It is vaping just perfect at 4.5v :D
I was not able to get the CE2 out of the bottom plug, so I settled for removing the bottom plug with the CE2 still attached lol. I'll have to figure out how to remove the CE2 part when it is time to change it out for a new one. I'm just being over cautious as I only have one MAP tank and do not want to break it hehe.

I appreciate all your help, very much :)

Hi Shel, we were posting at the same time. By following hairball's advice it is now working like a dream. I'm thinking that wicks were being pinched by the little rubbery cup and not getting much juice to the coils. I'm so pleased it's working now. Out of curiosity, what voltage are you vaping your MAP at?

Has anyone had a problem with juice causing the map tube to get not clear anymore.
It's looks like it actually melted the inside of the tank, only certain juices have done it. Caramel corn from Bruce did it. It gets so bad that the tube looks completely fogged up. I tried to clean It, but it actually melted the inside of the tube. I just hope its not doing anything to my inerds.

I tried to give the tube a bath in tea water, but it didn't go as planned. Thought it could handle the heat.

Have to keep an eye on the other juices to see what they do. Cinnamon Red Hots is extremely harsh, but it's oh so good!

Thanks Bruce for offering to replace the tube! In my case though I wouldn't feel right asking as I caused the damage. I have a stick of polycarbonate so I'm set.

Hey IVari
I'm now vaping at 5.2volts, but I change it, based on what juice I'm using.

I do make sure that the notches in the cap are lined up with the wicks when I install it, but haven't needed to cut the cap.

Glad yours is working well now!

Thanks Shel :). I tried to vape at around 5v and it's just not right for me (or my juice). I'm vaping 20/80 pg/vg DIY and am thinking that I might use more pg and see if that works better at a slightly higher voltage. I find that random times I get a cold vape at approx 4volts. I much prefer a warmer vapor :). This is my first time using a device that can go higher than 3.7volts, so I still have a lot to learn.

iVari, you need to get ce2's in a lower ohm rating. 3.0-3.2ohm is a cooler vape. Rule of thumb, the lower the ohm, the hotter they burn.

Thank you hairball, I was unsure of how the ohms affected vape. I've been vaping for a long time, but I'm only just beginning to use varying voltage. So much to learn still, I feel like a newbie all over again :)
