I've tried a few different ejuice venders with mixed results .. I've always been happy with Bryce's and Mt baker but since switching tanks and now using a kayfun exclusively, I've noticed Mt baker has a really strong throat hit.. I can't handle it..

Bryces is great with the kayfun but what's up with Mt baker since the change to the kayfun?

Same mix.. 50/50 pg,vg and 12 mg nic

And don't get me wrong... I really enjoy Mt baker in my other tanks especially the nautilus but why does it hit like a freight train in the kayfun..

If it has to strong of a throat hit you could always add a bit of vg to it. You can get that at Walmart. It would knock the nic down also but I don't think you would notice that much because the flavor is still there but it might get right of the harshness so you can at least use it up and not was anything. I'm a thrifty sort of gal. heehee I am waiting on a Kayfun in the mail so this is good info to know. I know I did really have a good answer as to why it is so strong in the Kayfun but I'm sure someone that knows more than me will answer and we will both learn something. Everyone always tells me you get a more intense flavor with dripping but I've never heard someone say why. Thanks for posting. :)

I would suggest that it's your wicks in your kayFun. The common is that the coil is wrapped to tight around the wick and choaking it off.

To much cotton is worse than not enough.

I rebuilt my coil and changed out the wick multiple times thinking that was the problem.. Still had the harsh throat hits.. I've been vaping the Bryce's custard for over a month and before that it was a couple juices from nicoticket.. Never a issue until I tried the mtbaker in the kayfun..

Two things come to mind, up your VG%, hmm, that didn't come out quite right, but you get the idea. Also with the kayfun, the height of the build over the intake will increase throat hit considerably. To harsh, try pushing it down some. Also, if you are not wicking real well, can be getting dry hits, which can become quite harsh. Make sure to fold the tails of the wick up when screwing on the containment ring, then tuck them into the juice decks. Otherwise, fiber can get caught in the threads and choke of the juice channels.

Sorry, more than 2 things I guess. Any who, I vape my Russian at 30 watts, and tis a thing of joy. I do mix at 70-80% VG, find Pg to harsh. But that's me.

Vape long and Prosper!!

P.S.: The cat bites!

Are you leaving the cotton fluffy when wicking you coil? Never twist up or compact the cotton when wicking. Should go in nice and fluffy. If you compact it, even though its not tight in the coil, t will not juice well a could be contributing to your problem.

That's the thing, I don't use a lot of cotton and make sure it pulls through the coil nice and easy.. And I leave it fluffy..

The kayfun is working flawlessly with Bryce and nicoticket.. Nice flavor, and vapor.. Just when I try mtbaker

These are new bottles of juice that have been steeping for a month.. I will try them in the nautilus when I get home from work and check the throat hit.. Because my last order was fine in the nautilus ..Maybe a got a bad batch? But it seems odd that both flavors from baker are giving me that harshness..

If I get the same results in the nautilus I will email baker and see if they changed anything in the blends..

LoveVanilla, yes that's pretty much what I vape.. Custard and pudding from Bryce's, and stickybun and moo juice from MtBaker..

The dirty secret of this industry is that we have suppliers who knowingly sell juices heavily laden with Diacetyl, Acetoin and AcetylProprionyl. Even while claiming that their products are Diacetyl free. You can find documentation of this behavior on this forum. BTW, do you know who supplies the flavorings for MBV?

Such behavior is reprehensible, immoral and, indeed, criminal. And until those responsible are in prison and safely out of business, you need to protect your own health. No joke.

When I used cotton, I'd twist it up nice and tight so that it would pull easily through the coil. Then once in position, untwist it to fluff out a tad. then saturate with juice. To little and she won't wick adequately, to tight and she'll choke up. I know use degummed hemp fiber and playing with Ramie fiber. Love my Hemp wicks.

Update...

I emailed MtBaker about my issue and asked if they changed anything with their blends.. Got a quick email back and mtbaker said nothing has changed and they've possibly made a mistake with my order. They sent a fresh replacement (free of charge) of juice.. Same 50/50 blend and 12 nic .. The throat hit is still strong but not as bad as the original order.. But sadly, it's still not vapable on the kayfun IMO

Still going to try adding some VG and will update if things change..

Thanks for all the input

Interesting, do you have links?

And would this effect the throat hit I'm getting out of the kayfun vs a nautilus, or a protank style clearomizer?
