Hello all,
Daisy said I should come over and say hey. I'm 49 (almost) and I think mature, she said I would be on double maturity probation to determine that. So I wont take off my shoes or sit down, till I find out the outcome of said probation. I've posted over on the mid-age and had a great time. This way I can post on two, so you can read my info I posted there if you like. No forget that,it might not go to good toward mature overview. So I'll give it hear.
My wife of 23yrs and I started vaping 3/7/12 after 35yrs of cigs and have had no analogs since. We have 2 children, boy 28, girl 22 (wife says she has 3 and married to the oldest). I was born in Oh but grew up and went to school in St.Pete,Fl. Now I'm back in Bellefontaine,Oh. Till I retire at 55, then back to Fl.(The Villages) Also would like to say Good Luck with your new thread,Daisy was excited!![]()
Morning all, can I come in? I guess technically I would fall under the category of mature.....I am 40 but have done my best over the years to NEVER grow up.....
I started smoking when I was 12, I wanted to be rebellious and cool so bad. I guess I seriously fell short in that category. Life was pretty unstable in my early years so smoking quickly became a security blanket for me. When I was 13 I entered the system and moved every 3 months till I was 18. Cigarettes were a currency and status symbol in the homes I stayed. You had to be Cool and tough to survive, and that's exactly what I did.
By the time I was 18 and on my own I was smoking 2 ppd and I always thought I'd quit by the time I was 30 to preserve my health. When I was 20 I developed a terrible cough that I couldn't shake and after a year of testing and Dr visits I was diagnoised with a terminal lung disease.....I decided then it was too late for me so I would just continue down the destructive path I was on. Fast forward a few years, The DR's had misdiagnosed me and I would live, but the light of my life and saving
grace, my beautiful Grandmother was dying of lung cancer.......It ravaged her,I watched, waited and smoked. Full of contempt for myself and and shame for what I was doing, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't quit.
Well life continued for me, but my health was getting worse and worse, I tried Chantix, and lost 2 years of my life in the deepest darkest pit of depression, then the patch and lozendge. They didn't work either........
Then one night, December 22nd 2010 I was trying to sleep on the couch, because my nightly presestant hack would keep my DH up all night every night. I just couldn't sleep so I jumped on my IPad to kill a few hours....When an add poped up for GreenSmoke. I looked it over then jumped on YouTube to see some reviews....I was sold, I told myself if I coud cut my smoking down to 5 or less maybe I wouldnt die. I was truly afraid for my life at this time, I could no longer function normally, I just couldn't breath. Every cig I smoked made my chest ache and my heart do flip flops. I coughed continuously through the days and nights. I was on the fast track to death.......
On Janurary 3rd, my kit arrived. I struggled the first 3 days but only smoked 3 cigarettes in that time. I was shocked and
KNEW with all my heart I could make this work. On Janurary 6th 2011 I threw my 8 remaining cigs away and never looked back.
I can't express the depth of my gratitude I have for this little funny invention. I can't help but cry when I think where I was Just 15 months ago, I don't have any doubt that I would have had a heart attack and most likely would have been dead. Yes, my health was that bad.
My life is so different today, I can run jump and play with the other kidsI have a life now, I can breath now, I'm free now..... And most of all I am so grateful and thank GOD, Budda whoever you wanna thank for this opportunity I have to be smoke free and share my experience and help my loved ones quit too!

Well I guess I'm mature...63 and vaping for three years now.
And so behind the times in the new stuff but use clearos and mainly 510 box mods. Do own a 510 starter kit and an ego.
The best find this year was using vinegar in cinnamon so I can vape it as much as I want. WOOT!!!

Born & raised in Columbus, Ohio.
Welcome fellow Buckeye!!

have you noticed Blues is hanging out with a bunch of women???![]()

I have a favor to ask of y'all. Can you please not discuss hunting here, or the intentional harm of animals?
Where's your avitar Bluesman?![]()
Funny how that worked out.
Thank you, Sandy. I REALLY appreciate your friendship.
Rave, first of all, you don't know how glad I am to see you. Second, still on the sales force at SI, I see. I joke. My Volt and liquids are my "go to." As a matter of fact, they are pretty much my "never leave."
I turned my avitar off the other day for reasons I will not get into here. And with the opening of this thread my intentions were to turn it back on. However, ECF is not cooperating. For some reason I can not get into my profile stuff. Others are having the same problem. So, when they fix whatever is wrong, there will be a ceremonious lighting of the Bluesman avitar.
Would anyone mind if I changed my avitar? I feel like a new beginning.
Thanks for the welcome Bluesman. My vaping experience:
Started smoking @ 14. Got up to 3 pk/day & quit @ 30. Started playing around with tobacco again @ 52 & got hooked again. Yes I'm dumb dumb dumb & I was in denial about addiction. Thought I could handle a couple now & then. Oh well.
Picked up an ecig a couple years ago cuz I was too embarrassed for anyone to know I was smoking & I needed the nix fix. Didn't work of course.
Found ECF in March. . Got a kgo. Have only smoked about 20 analogs in the last 2 months.
Glad you are here.

Hi bluesman
Is this thread similar to the over 55 thread?
I'm 63 years young. I still ride a bike. I swim. I vape. I'm still employed.
Do I qualify as mature?

The pic of Lexi is hilarious. Love it. Certainly quite a difference from Lexi, the mail carrier.
