Wuzznt - How do they compare with the clearos from SI?

They're smaller (1.4ml) and harder to fill. You have to use a syringe and needle to fill them upside down. They come with a rig in the box plus a rubber drip tip like SI's. They do vape awesome. I think the flavor is better myself and vapor production is off the hook. A little cooler because of the bottom coil and mine are wicking well. They come apart nice for cleaning and dry burning. They love SI's DJ, RY4 and 555. I think some of the problems others are having may be too thick juice or too high voltage. Just guessing. I'm using them on an old Ego battery at about 3.4 volts. I forgot to turn the battery off today and stuck it in my pocket. Took a vape a while later and it tasted burnt and nasty. I thought for sure I'd trashed that one but I took it apart and cleaned it, dry burned it and filled it back up. Like brand new again. They're too much fiddling for them to become my favorite but like the SI clearo I'll keep one or two around for home use. I like the clearos for trying new juices as well because it's easy to get the old flavor out. My primary is still and probably always will be my 78mm 808s. GV says they may get some in 808 if enough people on their thread show an interest. They work well at 3.7 as well. Overall I'd buy another pack if I use this one up. Maybe by then they'll have them in 808.

OK, so how did you guys keep from being hacked, oops, I mean split up?!? We got split in the middle of the night. They said it was to shorten threads over 600 posts from slowing down the site.

I don't know the answer to that. Maybe they always thought old people get confused easily so they just left us alone

I have to bookmark threads or I can't find my way back  Now where did I park?

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

There is an effort by our lovely and interesting sandybeach to bring together the "Older People 55 and Up" thread, the "Mature Vapers" thread, and anyone else that is interested. I have been in the loop of communication for the last week or so and would like to present the plan.

Sandy will be opening a new and independent thread. She will lay ground rules and state her objectives. I have always had alot of respect for the OP of a thread. In this case, I have no difficulty respecting Sandy's motives and intentions. She is doing this for the good of many.

My personal plans are to join this new thread. Upon success of the new thread, I will ask the ECF mods to close this thread. There is no reason at that point to keep this thread alive and continue with unneeded stress on the ECF engine and database. We will all have a central safe, informative, and fun place to hang out.

I urge you to support Sandy in her effort. She has a great idea and will do a good job.

Sandy will make a post here about the new location and ground rules. Please stay tuned.

Thanks for the review on the Phoenix, guys. I hate fiddling with stuff and I like a warm vape. It doesn't sound like I'd like it.

I think it depends on how you define "fiddle". Filling these up with the syringe is no big deal, and then you don't have to do it again until it is empty. A cartomizer, on the other hand, is a huge PITA to me.....constantly having to drip in more juice, constantly checking to make sure it isn't dry......not to mention the yucky taste of polyfill (at least to my taste buds). The clearer taste is totally worth it to me, and the "fiddle" seems much less.

Fiddle is a different experience for many people. I can certainly figure out a way to turn it upside down and fill it with a syringe. But in my personal case, I will not do that. That particular product would not be worth the fiddle factor for me. The Stardust type clearos fiddle factor is something I can handle easily.

Stardusts are still my favorite. If they were the same price as a Phoenix.....I wouldn't use anything else. My only complaint with them is that the last bit of juice gets carmelized, which results in a loss of flavor to me. So far, it has happened primarily with sweeter juices (Sugar Cookie, Gooey Butter Cake), so they may be more susceptible to it. I usually end of dumping it out, rinsing the Stardust, and starting over. I'm playing around with bigger stuff, a Vivi Nova, a couple of 3ml Phoenix, and a small carto tank.....but I still love the Stardust. I'm a bigtime "juice hopper"....so having a bunch of smaller amounts of different flavors around works well for me.

Yeah, I've heard elsewhere about the carmelization. I only vape tobacco so I haven't had that experience. I also have a tendency to refill when it gets down to about 1/3 or 1/4. My one darker liquid cause the Stardust to go faster than the lighter ones. I don't really vape alot of different liquids. Actually only 3 with another 2 thrown in now and then.

More on new meds in public places.

The last I traveled away from my home, I had seen my cardiologist a few days before. I take lisinopril (ACE inhibitor) and have been on the same dose for 3 years. For some reason, probably governed by BP, he decided to raise my twice daily dose of lisinopril.

So now I'm away from home and I begin to experience numbness in my extremities, pain in my neck, lethargy, and the feeling of being cold. Not good. I call my cardiologist to report this and the receptionist says I will have to come into the office and she can fit me in next week

No, that is not acceptable. This is what I am going to do: I will go back to taking my previous dose, please pass that on to the doctor. "No," she objects. And warns me that I cannot do that without doctor approval.

Okay, I'll see you later. Bye. Hang up.

Doc calls later to say that I should go back to my previous dose.

Thank you for the approval.

Did the receptionist even discuss your symptoms with the doctor before deciding that you could wait a week? Sounds to me like the beginning of going into shock from low BP.

It happened to me at work a short while after I first started using PV's. My extremities are always pretty much numb, so I wouldn't have noticed that - But, the lethargy and cold and complete confusion left me as basically a pile of semi-conscious goo in front of my computer. I could hear my boss and CAD partner discussing what they should do, but I couldn't even lift my head. I was rushed to the hospital where it was determined that I was in shock from low blood pressure. I was on three different meds to treat the BP of a heavy smoker, but I wasn't a smoker anymore. PV's don't deliver nicotine nearly as well as many people think.

Exactly right, Rave. Low BP. My BP is kept lower than normal to begin with (heart). The extra dose of lisinopril was just too much.

In defense of my cardiologist, I am a complicated human, physiologically speaking. I have an allergy to soy. If I am exposed to soy all kinds of things happen. One of those things is elevated BP. He may have seen that on my office visit. I wish he would have asked me about it. It's on my chart about soy. Oh well.

Yours did not sound like a very good experience. I guess it's good you were at work at the time.
