My daughter the cat whisperer tells me that females always dominate the males.

That is interesting. I wonder if it's true. It sure is in our house. You know how most new cats are skittish and hide when you first bring them home? All 2lbs of Roz was skittish for about two hours and then she just started running and playing all over the house. She just walked in and took over the house and the other animals. I love to see her playing with grumpy old and fat Rocky. She is around 4 or 5 lbs now. She comes running out of nowhere and takes a flying leap onto Rocky. Poor Rocky just looks stunned half the time. It's hysterical. It's also cute to see Rocky slowly adjust to Roz. He is finally allowing Roz to snuggle up sometimes and they have even started grooming each other.

Awww how sweet. Chester and Mulligan's grooming is one-way. It always starts with Chester the dominant one putting his arm around Mulligan to hold him down, and he licks Mulligan's head. After a few minutes it always breaks down into Fight Club ;)

mine do the same thing. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are playing or fighting then all of a sudden they are definitely fighting. And why to they groom the inside of each other's ears? I suppose it's a good thing as they can't do their own but for some reason that just grosses me out and I can't watch!

Well I'm off to get my head shrunk again. I always imagine one day the doc is going to jump up, point at me, and yell "off with her head!" LOL!!!

Ultrasonic cleaners are pretty handy items. You can clean Eyeglasses, CDs, DVDs-BluRays etc, and for what I really bought it for ... making Liposomal Vitamin C.

???!!!

When you take a Vitamin C tablet very little of it is absorbed. About 17%.

But ...

  • If you dissolve Vitamin C powder in water ...
  • Dissolve lecithin in water ...
  • And pour both solutions into an ultrasonic cleaner and run it a few cycles ...

You get a Liposomal Vitamin C liquid that it 70% bioavailable vs. 17%.

More here: How to Make Liposomal Vitamin C At Home - YouTube

I've been taking an ounce or two every day since late May and the plagues that my son regularly brought home from school have not, like every single time over the last 8 years, laid me low. Placebo effect? Who cares??!! If I can get through Cold/Flu Season without losing 9 days or more to The Creeping Crud ... I'll be a happy guy. So far so good.

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming ...

You are such a handy and knowledgeable guy Bob! I was thinking the same thing regarding a med I'm on and the placebo effect today. My shrink says the hormone replacemet I'm taking has never shown to help with depression but my OB-Gyn says it does. I KNOW it has helped me a lot. So placebo effect? Who knows but I don't care as long as it works!

Do you get a flu shot? I'm off to get mine now. I've gotten one every year for years and haven't gotten the flu since. Sometimes I work seasonal flu clinics and give the shots but this year I'm not doing it. Otherwise I could have just given it to myself like I usually do.

Do you get a flu shot?

I remember I should have gotten a flu shot the second or third day I have the flu. I've never remembered to get one pre-flu. And I'm not one for locking up the barn after all the horses ran away ... I tell myself that next year I'll get one.

Then I never do.

But this year I'm hopeful that floating in an internal sea of Vitamin C ... I'll ward off all evil.

Like I said ... so far so good.

Three years in a row I got a flu shot, I got the flu two of those three years. Before that time, I got the flu every 10 or 15 years. I will never get another flu shot.

I'm with you on this one Jerry, the flu shots give me the flu....and in addition to this I'm usually very nauseated the first couple of days after I get one.

Nice growin' Mooks! Actually, what you have there is a Thanksgiving Cactus, you can tell by the pointy leaves, the way the stems grow and the flowers themselves. A true old fashion Christmas cactus has scalloped edges along the leaves, the whole plant is droopier and more rounded, and the flowers are slightly different. Just to confuse things, because the thanksgiving cactus is generally easier to grow, has a greater variety of flower colors and more market appeal, it was discovered that by varying the length of the daylight it received, it could be made to flower anywhere from it's natural period in daylight (as yours is doing now) to later in the season for Christmas time, so double profits on the same plant! You don't see too many actual Christmas cacti any more unless someone passes along an heirloom. So your Christmas cactus knows it is really a Thanksgiving cactus, surprise! LOL. More information than you ever wanted about your pretty blooming cactus, eh? I told you I am a plant nerd!!!

And Bob, cool info about the vitamin C! Geez we are a virtual warehouse of eclectic tidbits today aren't we? LOL!

Sandy, why can you say multiple pussies, but not a single one? Is one more vulgar than a bevy of them? No, a plethora of them!!!! Ha ha ha! I crack myself up!

Oh, I gotta share this with you. Because I am on pain meds I have to take twice yearly urine tests to make sure I'm taking them not selling them. So today was the day, and my doctor is doing his thing, and he turns to me looking very concerned, kind of nodding his head, but he didn't say anything. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore, and I asked "WHAT?" He says all serious, "Yep, you're pregnant." I called him a bad name and he busted out laughing! He's so silly! And then to top it off, I got mail saying I had jury duty, but I couldn't sit in a courtroom all day, so I brought the card in to him so he could sign me out. What does he check off? (In pencil thank goodness!) "Jurist is pregnant". They all got BIIIIG ears too, cuz by the time I went to check out, the staff in the office were all congratulating me! Ha ha funny kids. So humorous. Smack! Wait, I'm gonna get even with him! LOL!
