Yay! That deserved one! That's so SAD!!! Our community has a huge heart for animals in need. People, too! We are the poorest county this side of the mountains but we come in #1 for helping our neighbors, including the 4-legged ones. I am proud to be a part of our community.![]()
I may add a little bling...lolI would have to agree with you 100%! It's gorgeous.![]()
That's terrible.. I'll never understand why people like that work with animals. There are some shelters out there that need serious help. We fought with one of them that was in deplorable shape to get a Husky out. We even got an injucuntion to stop them from killing him and a court order to release him to someone waiting in the parking lot. The head of the shelter killed him anyways then carried him outside and held him up so our guy out there could see him. I was devastated...then they tried to bill the rescue who tagged him for rescue.
A back up what? Bank account? I wish! mod? Sure, but what about vapeageddon? It's still coming, sure as chit. Mechs don't break.I'm sure you have a back up.....lol

Please tell me that hu"man" is in jail. If not, I'm gonna need an address. There's no cookies in Reese's...trust me, it's my favorite candy and I always have some in the house...lol
Where was this at? It must be somewhere not near me. That's freakin absurd! There are no shelters in my town, but there are 2 in the surrounding counties that actually do good. I could think of a couple counties in this state that may do something awful like that. There are some shelters out there that need serious help. Cause it's a steady government job and Bubba got a badge. That's terrible.. I'll never understand why people like that work with animals.
I meant back up choice on the shopping list.A back up what? Bank account? I wish! mod? Sure, but what about vapeageddon? It's still coming, sure as chit. Mechs don't break.

You had a court order and an injunction. Why on Earth would somebody do something like that?
Granted, I don't like kill shelters anyways. We only have one shelter here for the bulk of three counties, and it's a kill. They won't even adopt out pit bulls, they're quarantined for 30 days to see if somebody claims them, then gone. Everybody I know has their dog micro chipped around here or its a safe bet you're not getting them back. It's so sad though, there's two main kennel areas. A big quarantine house (usually full of pits), and the visitor area of about 15 kennels with dogs double and triple housed. The regs around here are so strict though it's hard to adopt sometimes.
Look at all of those feathers!!!! Such a big boy now!Petrie is getting so big!![]()
You are right about some idiots who get a little bit of power...its never good. We actually do have some good ones thoughI meant back up choice on the shopping list.
Bubba never even got his hand slapped! I'm ot trying to judgy or a snob, but y'all know what happens in BFE America. A few dudes with a badge get a little bit of power....we had a group of volunteers from the shelter trying to help us get a few Huskies out. The shelter only had 2 paid employees (bubba and one of his relatives) but 6 were listed on payroll. I wonder where THAT money went...hmmmm? One of the volunteers had recently been banned because she took a pic of dead animals stacked in the back room where food was kept and she'd sent it to the police begging for help.
He is completely feathered now! Big Duddy still runs from him...lol Sometimes I think Duddy does not know he is a duck, and when he looks at Petrie he doesnt know what he is! HahaLook at all of those feathers!!!! Such a big boy now!
I wanna say this was 2012... We were still living in the rental while we were waiting to buy here. I'm trying to search my FB to find the shelter name....or at least the location. I used to volunteer at a no-kill shelter in Kansas. I loved being there, and we got our piggy-dog Bert from there...lol! The shelters here are a mix of kill and no-kill. And everyone is full to the gills year round. You are right about some idiots who get a little bit of power...its never good. We actually do have some good ones thoughThankfully I have never heard anything like that idiot you guys dealt with near me. It was probably one of those horrible towns that nobody likes to go to.... Several years ago on other side of the state a shelter was shut down and people were arrested for animal abuse. I cannot remember exactly where, but so many people were furious. I think I may have been in highschool when it happened.
The county I grew up in, when I was little there was this lady who started a shelter for dogs. She set it up on her property (she had quite a bit of land) and she would not kill the dogs if no homes were found. She was really good at finding them new homes, traveled to different states and people from different states came to her to adopt the dogs. She did some wonderful thingsThe 2 shelters in the 2 different counties outside of mine they are good too. They have rehomed so many dogs and cats (one is just for dogs and the other does dogs and cats), and they treat the animals respectfully and proper.
