As you guys know, my Joye 510 arrived today. Once I finally got the primer fluid out of the atomizer completely, I was able to enjoy its riches. So I wanted to share this with you, as a couple people were interested to know what I thought about it. I'm also going to be as detailed as possible, so that anyone looking to buy their first e-cig can get some use out of this review.
I ordered my Joye 510 from Vapor Kings - DSE801, DSE901, Joye510 and KR808D-1 e-Cigarette supplies and I couldn't be more pleased with the price and quality of customer service, not to mention how FAST it shipped!! I paid 55$ for the kit, and ordered it on friday after 2pm CST, it arrived today (monday) around 4pm. Which means it shipped saturday, and arrived monday. That's is impossibly fast. Considering there's no mail on Sunday, it's almost as if they overnighted it. It's ridonculous, I couldn't believe it.
When I opened the package I was almost afraid that they'd exluded some parts! This thing is SMALL. It came in a tiiiny little box (Keep in mind I did say no to the regular box that it comes with) and each peice was individually wrapped, and the whole package was in a nice sturdy USPS box filled with bubble wrap. There was NO way this thing was getting hurt in transit. Excellent packing job.
So I unpacked my kit and plugged in a battery and almost instantly the light turned green. (I think I may have waited about 3 minutes at most).
Unfortunately, the juice I ordered from tastyvapor has not arrived yet and will probably be here tomorrow.. So I did have to use the juice that came with the kit, and have extracted the juice from some of my blu carts to use with it as well. I'm not sure how much of a difference in performance the high nicotine (20% VG) juice will be, but if it's a huge one, I'll update this review to reflect that tomorrow.
The joye 510 atomizers (The device that heats up your liquid and turns it to vapor) apparently come dampened with a "Primer Fluid", I was told to blow on the threaded end of the atomizer and get all the liquid out before using it, and I did.. But I still tasted the really really horrible liquid. (It tastes like a balloon or a - pre-used - condom, to me anyway) It took me about 2 - 3 hours of heavy vaping and drying out the atomizer occasionally by dripping on it and letting it burn to fully get that flavor off. After that, I could taste my liquid beautifully. (what liquid I have left anyway, which is really terrible blu stock liquid and very bland flavors that came with the joye - menthol, tobacco.. Yeah I didnt think THAT order out very well)
So here are my thoughts on the main functions of an electronic cigarette that people look for, pertaining to a Joye 510;
Throat Hit:
Beautiful. Really, really nice smooth throat hit. Even with the medium grade nicotine liquid that came with it. I feel it every time, no fail. It's astoundingly consistant, right up until the LED flashes and my battery dies. Keep in mind that the lower mg of nicotine you use, the less powerful your throat hit is going to be.
Vapor:
Woah baby! I cannot believe my eyes!! Now, this is coming from someone whos first e-cig was a Blu, which is widely known as one of the worst, and produces a nominal amount of vapor. Compared to that, the joye 510 is like a god-send. Like the holy graile. And again, I've heard differently, but for me, the vapor keeps going and going and going right up until the battery poops the bed.
Battery Life:
Eh. Most are aware that the battery life of a joye 510 is teh suck. It seems to be lasting me roughly an hour, maybe a little over. The good thing is vaporkings does send you two batteries, so I always have one charging. There have been a couple times when the batteries being dead overlapped - I guess I'm a REALLY heavy vapor at times. And that really sucked.. I had to smoke an analog while I waited for the other battery to charge. But that's easily remedied, I know at cignot.com you can buy 3 joye 510 batteries (with really cool LED colors) for like 35$, and three should keep me set for life (For the life of the batteries, that is.) Now I really am considering buying myself a PCC (Personal Charging Case) for the joye because.. Ill probably need it. ....... I'll need it.
Taste:
I think I covered this briefly before, and tbh Im not really at a place to give a good review on the taste. I can say that the flavors I do have are tasting.... well, I can taste them, let's just leave it at that. I'm using a menthol that came with the joye and am dripping with cherry that came with the blu. It's not completely terrible.. It's not very good either. Anyway, I can taste it... all too well. Keep an eye out for a review of tastyvapor in the e-juice review forum, and I'll tell you what good juice tastes like in the 510.
Look:
It's gorgeous. I love it. Unfortunately, it doesn't SEEM (I could be very wrong) to come in other colors besides white and black. I would have really really loved a metallic blue (which is why I might get a metallic blue 901 penstyle next) it's my favorite color. But other than that, it's sleek, it's sexy, it's got a nice gold ring where you screw the battery into the atomizer, it feels light, you can hold it like a regular cigarette when you're not puffing on it... It's just great.
And that pretty much covers all my bases I think. If i've missed anything or you want to know something else, let me know. Overall, I am very very pleased with my purchase and my decison. It's an amazing little device and I am still kicking myself for not doing enough research and buying that blu. I really wish THIS was my first e-cig.
So new e-cig buyers... DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE. GET A JOYE 510!!
