measuring ohms

multimeter i got, and am good with volts.
how do i go about measuring ohm resistance in the atty? i tried but was getting readings of .1, and i'm pretty sure that can't be right ...

If it's a known good atty, you are correct, that is wrong. Put your 2 meter leads together on the ohm setting and you should get 0 (zero). Sounds like a digital meter? .1 probably means infinity, I think that's what it means on mine. Can't be certain of that though. Will check when I get home. Place one lead on center post of atty and the other on the threads and see what it says, you may have done this but just making sure.

yeah, that's what i did. didn't check the leads together though. and yes, the meter is digital.
