Why would you spend $400 on a mechanical mod, is it gold plated and encrusted with diamonds?;) Actually I get it, years back when I started I just wanted the best and was willing to pay for it. I realized later that it all comes down to putting current through a coil and that this doesn't mean you need to spend a lot of money at all. I guess I would check out the Rio there is a lot that is good going on with them.

However, I think a mechanical mod should be kept as simple as possible because that is the point for me. I want something like an early timex watch. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I suppose I would suggest the GG if money is really not an issue.

Ok Im in the market for a high end mech mod, or something that you would suggest I know alot of these are going to be out of stock, but I was wondering from people that has them if you could only have one or buy one which one would you choose, oh and price range is about 400.00? Thanks

I tried a lot of the tube type mech mods and they were not for me, so I went for the REO. Check them out and maybe you will like them too.

Look at my signature. You will find an answer there. There are plenty of reasons to spend hundreds on a quality mod. Find a cheap mech that has the innovation of the adjusting button on a Nemesis, or the incredible touch throw of a GP Paps 2.5. Find one that looks as great as a Caravela. Unfortunately, ECF has, for the most part, become a place to find the latest cheap Chinese mod.
Let the hate begin ...... I won't be here to read it.

Obviously, the OP is in search of a quality piece and is not concerned over dollars.

OP, if only one? That's a tough one, as I appreciate many of the original mods, which are build with high quality materials and execution of build in mind.

To name a few . . . Nemesis by Atmomixani, Chi You by Mojo, GP PAPS by Vapourart, ELA by Super T, Caravela my Pedro, etc.

Good luck to you on your search for a high end mod.

So you just come here to spam the board or what? As for the latest Chinese mod so what? Without China next to nobody would even know what an e-cig is. I have owned all kinds of mods, the Provari, Rio, Chuck, Megalodon, GG, GLV and a whole bunch more and I am glad to see that people can get affordable mechanical mods from China. It's a tube than you use to put current through a coil, it's that simple. The rest of it is for show and that is fine if that is your thing. I spent five grand on a paint job for my car. It didn't make it run any better but I love showing it off. Same thing for some people with e-cigs and that's cool. It's not for everyone though and it doesn't make a mechanical mod any better. Again it's a tube that holds a battery so that current can flow through a coil. That's it and the rest is just window dressing and how you like to connect the battery to the tube.

Nzonic, Gus, Paps, GG, Astro, Nemesis, Chi you, etc.....There are some really great mods out there for way less than $400.
I have had a slew of Segelei mechs, and have not cared for any of them. I just sold them all and bought a couple really good mods instead. I know that a lot of people like the clone mods, and that's great. They just were not for me.
Although, I did really like the MKB a lot.

I have an appreciation for something that is finely manufactured and doesn't need fiddling with to make it work.
I used to build large stained glass windows, so quality of build is something I always look for.
You are going to need to decide what fits you first...
Where you want the switch, what size battery you prefer to use ( will determine the size of what you buy)
Tube or box...
There are so many beautiful, finely made mods...you have some great suggestions in here already - have fun !

I think Pete is not spammer material, given he has 2,400 posts in here.

I agree w/ both sides, but if you can afford the finer nuances and want those finer nuances, people shouldn't be shined on for doing so. Just like people who don't wanna be shined on for just wanting current.

Given the car analogy, why don't we all just have the same car and/or the cheapest made car that gets us from point A to B? There's a myriad of reasons. One of them happens to be nuance and experience. This is where many of the higher end mods excel compared to their CH counterparts. No need to modify upon receipt, higher quality materials, better connections, smoother button/locking, easier set-up, etc., etc.

No side is right or wrong, so to be wholly dismissive of one's desire to try/use a device that costs more isn't helpful to them.

Quoted for agreement. Nicely put.
