There are a couple mods now that come standard with magnetic firing button. Alot of the older mods have "add-on" kits that can be used to put magnets in the existing button, or replace the button with a magnetic one. Magnets don't wear out but can become demagnetized in some circumstances

I also saw these Kayfun 3.1 contacts; what does it mean, are they necessary to attach a Kfun? I want to d that!

Now, OTOH, browsing the net I came across a few clones touted as High Quality; one an HCigar clone (supposed to be good?) and another by Kalafan. Both come to $60~65 USD shipped to Mexico from the USA. That would put them at my desk in about two weeks vs probably four for the FT items.

I don't know tho if any of the two include the Kick extension and have magnetic switches. I'll have to ask the vendors.

Update:

The Kalafan specifies Spring Switch so I closed the tab. I've asked the other vendor about Kick ring and switch.

hcigar makes good quality clones.

those kayfun parts make the nemesis a hybrid. Basically it removes the topcap so you can screw on your kayfun directly to the tube. Just for aesthetics, no real added value except possibly better volt drop but thats debatable.

I don't think any nemesis comes standard with a magnetic button, but you can replace it with a magnetic one.

Asked the Hcigar vendor. The other one specified spring switch in the description. At more than twice the price I might go with FT. It's not like I need it tomorrow! :D

That would be circumvented by a Kick, wouldn't it?

2nd edit: Found this article. It's a watershed... I'm buying the FT.

I never saw the higher price. Mine was waiting for me when i came home. Looks as good as it does in the pics. I wont have the time to vape it till the weekend. Boy i cant wait till saturday. Maybe i'll even.post a couple of pics. Oh yeah i go serial number 43 out of 111. So the did't make a ton of them. Maybe i'll wind up with a collectable mod!!!

a kick will regulate the battery, yes, BUT less voltage drop with a kick increases the life of the battery
EDIT: good article and great site for reviews :)

Guys, many tanks for the diligent feedback. Browsing the hundreds of discussions and reviews I came to the conclusion that the switch is not magnetic but a simple addition of magnets priced at $2.40 for a pack of 10 converts it without fuss. I'm adding the $2.36 Connection Parts as well —never used a hybrid, nor have seen one other than in pics so I might as well try it.

What do you think of this $22 DOME Style RBA Rebuildable Atomizer? If I was considering a $65 purchase from Eb, I think I can manage the extra expense.

My first and only contact with RBAs was with Kayfun clones, although I've been rebuilding from week one when my first Vivi Nova tank gave the ghost and left me stranded. After that I've managed coils for Aerotanks and Nautilus (Nautili?).

The Kf was an epyphany and I'm vaping a shotgun 1.2Ω setup right now. The quad coils and mesh rolls of the DOME don't faze me and I'd like to try something more sophisticated. :)

Update: I had $20.xx in a refund cert with FT so I applied them to the atty, along with the Mod, connectors and magnets.

Oops! A sobering reply... Thanks cracoucax.

OK, I'll check them. Can you point me to the genuine article to compare with FT's?

No prob, there. It will be, basically, a sit at desk one.

I'll take a good look at them.

The genuine article official site is here : Nemesis Devices
Though it's often out of stock, but most online genuine mods sellers will sell nemesises, you can probably find one in mexico.

Not really. The kick will give you the wattage you ask for yes, but the more voltage drop the harder it will have to push the battery, so the battery won't last as long if you have a big voltage drop.
That's mostly theorical in this case though as I doubt there is a big voltage drop difference between those clones.

I have 3 of those $24 fastech clones, they're perfectly fine imo.
Just clean the threads and swab the logo at reception, and you're good to go !
You'll probably want to watch vids on youtube reviewing the nemesis so you can see how to assemble it in the different configurations and adjust it for your batteries sizes. It can be confusing at first, especially if it's your first mech mod.

Pray, how? I hate those logos but I thought they were laser etched; then I found they're just screened with paint. What solvent would work well?

Last night I was thinking of grabbing the drill and my pipe stem bufffing wheel plus some red polishing compound that came with my old Dremel kit but if it's easily erased with solvent, that's what I would rather do.

You guys have been of immense help with this silly quest. Again, heartfelt thanks!

PS, not my first mech BTW. The first one was in fact the pipe you see on my avatar but I have another two better e-pipes and also a K101 and (the newest) a Smok Magneto which is now with a dear friend, diving buddy and owner of a large mechanical shop who is crafting a flush tube to acommodate a 18650 & Kick. I hated the telescoping step-down extension from day one. Right now I have a veritable dozen of lithium batts in 18350 & ..650 sizes & chems, from 900mAh to 3200mAh 30A High Drain ones and some more on the way. :)

In my experience with RBA's, the vape is 99.99% dependent on how you build your coil and how you wick it, not on the RBA base itself.

the original nemesis does has an etched logo. I highly doubt many of the clones do. Get paint thinner :) If not then the buffing wheel will definitely clean it up. I have a magneto as well and i LOVE it.

Agreed! The reason the "Dome" caught my attention is that it seeems to be intended for mesh and multiple coils. I just managed to receive some mesh --nobody seems to have it for sale in this country; offer of vaping resources other than egos and clearos is spotty and expensive- although I haven't applied it yet to anything.

My Kayfun clones seem to work perfectly with 1.0 to 1.6Ω and cotton or, if I don't want to replace the wick every two days, silica. However, I'm curious about mesh which is touted to give excellent wicking with some attys in addition to complete lack of flavor if washed properly. I assume the builds last longer than silica as well, although that is a completely unustantiated conclusion.

The Dome looks very interesting with its dipping wick design and multiple coils, although I guess that you either build them with a very high individual resistance (say >3Ω each if you go for a triple build) or vape sub-ohm and kill your batteries. That is basically what I was asking... :)

i pretty much only sub-ohm when i build a coil. IMO if i want a higher resistance ill use one of my clearo's:)

Yeah, that's what I meant; 3Ω ea of 3 coils in parallel would end up with 1Ω total for the build. However, I noticed that although there's four wick holes, and 3 negative posts counting one that is supposed to be an optional air control for the lower chamber (liquid?) it would be kind of awkward to try for a tri-coil build. The reviewers all mention U wicks as a possibility but saw none attempting them. Haven't checked Rip Trippers tho, but that guy is crazy! Next time he will vape a car suspension spring!!! :D Have you seen the concentric coil he did? LOL! He is the Salvador Dali of vaping... ;) In any case, I'm only looking for a way to not rebuild three times a week! :)

PS, while I have your ear <g>, would you take a look at this? I'm searching all the netdom for info without success.

All the nice clones have laser etched logos.
Usually not as deep as the originals, but deep enough to require light sanding and polishing to remove.

WOAH WOAH WOAH WOAH!!!!
I've been looking for this if it's what I think it is....

So the kayfun can be screwed directly on a nemesis and bypass the 510 thread??

Not doing that! :D I can live with the logo if that's the case; it's not like I have it tatooed in my face. LOL!
