I also have been checking out the SOI SBX, although Ive had some people warn me against SOI mech tubes before. Ill have to go back and check why, but iirc it was because of poor quality or something along those lines.

Thanks fir the tip about the Dreamer dripster, do you think this is a result of poor QC and a bad model? I thought mooch tested it and the voltage drop wasnt too bad on the dreamer? I may be thinking of the wrong test though and have to go back and check!
I've got number of high end gear, from Kennedy to pure silver 2JNT Pilak's and SOI Subzero's are one fine Tubes.

He (Mooch) tested the copper, the brass, the aluminum, and the SS version of the Dreamer. The voltage drop wasn't astronomical on any of them, but none of them were better than just barely average IMO so nothing all that special compared to what's out there in this price range, and, the SS version was the only one that was a noticeable step worse than average so even though it's not horrendous, I wouldn't exactly want to call it good, let alone call it great, whereas the copper and the brass Admiral truly are right up there with the stellar performers that are better than great so with that particular knowledge in mind I simply cannot recommend the SS Dreamer in any way at all, I mean... it is what it is, really.

As for the SOI, someone I met at my go to vape shop bought the copper ShortyX and then he later decided to just give the mod away for free just because of how worthless he really thought it was, as the button on it had frequent partial misfires and misfires, in addition to fairly severe arcing along the edges of the switch contacts that was ruining the silver plating on them and so he feared they eventually might weld themselves onto each other tight.

Thanks for the heads up! Ive never heard much beyond "dont buy SOI" so its nice to hear a first hand experience confirming this. I worry sometimes people may say not to buy something simply because their jaded a company didnt [insert customer support issue here]. So its nice to hear a first hand account/personal experience. I shouldve jumped on those admirals when eightvape had them for under 100$..

Not sure what to do. Hmm..

I was speaking to ss in general, as a matter of fact I can't stand the Dreamer mod, lol. I just personally don't care for the looks of it. I'd rather run a SMPL or a Subzero
One of my mechs has the words "the city that never sleeps" on it so yeah... no dreamer I guess... :D

What would your picks be guys?

Comp Lyfe tungsten hk 24, dotmod petri lite 24mm, Kennedy Roundhouse v2, Jux mod by Continuous Current, or a Broadside Admiral?

The Broadside would cost me 50$ more then the comp lyfe and others and 30$ more then the Roundhouse v2.
The Admiral can still be had for $140 without shipping.

I do like the Roundhouse v2 but that's me, lol. I'd just start looking at the small details of each and see if you find a clear choice of the one you like.

Im not too fond of hybrid connections, however it does simplify things. One less thing to have to replace. just the idea of sticking something in my mouth that is directly connected to the battery gives me the heeby jeebys

I get that, and nothing wrong with choosing to not use a hybrid or a faux hybrid. I didn't for a long time and even now only use certain attys when I do. It pays to have a nicely built atty when running straight to the battery.

I like the Americlone Fuhattan’s with a very strong magnet switch. Have only owned 2, both are the Copper models with a coating around it. They came with 2-3 510 pins for switching out as they float, which I think is Safer then some Fixed pins. The Americlones are supposed to be safer than the original Manhattans but there’s still no “Real” comfort that it can’t malfunction even being used in the most responsible way.
These a very hard to find right now, the Copper models sold fast 2-3 years ago..

I was going to get some Nemesis Mods a couple years back but even when I had the money, people were snatching them up too quick. Nemesis with Kick support seemed a good option.

Smok Magneto isn’t bad, some Atty’s can be too wide. I wish I bought an Extension Tube from Hoosier before they shut down so an 18650 could be Kicked and not just an 18350 or 18500.

Currently looking into the new Wismec Noisy Cricket II-25 being it claims to have Safety features built in along with customizable power delivery.. Not exactly a “True Mech” too most I’m sure but it is considered an “Unregulated Mod” which is fine with me.
There used to be other Quality Mech Boxes like those Original Clear ones who’s name I cannot remember.

Yeah, I try to find Mechs that have been around and if I have experience with The Model that makes it a Plus. I wanted a Silver Bullet M, but by the time I decided to order one along with Kick tube and extra Spring, they were suddenly all gone, after months sitting there Available... Could be for the best as said in other threads, if the Fire Button goes out, there will not be a replacement.
But that is true for a lot of Mods, Even Mechs, not all are made anymore and the FDA has caused Vapors to buy everything they see.
Best to buy as many as you can if you do find some you like!

Yeah I was gonna buy up some button housings, button assembleyys and 510 top hat/cap connectors and everything.
That was my main reason getting a mech, that way no matter what I am able to vape and if anything breaks I can fix it!

Oh, that's interesting. All that I'd read on the shorty (original, not X) was overwhelmingly positive, but maybe I'll just stick with the admiral as it seems like the safer bet. Thanks!

Yeah a well built Mech Mod can last a long time. Or a “Simply Made” one can be fixed with Flashlight parts..

I like Copper Mechs but with some kind of Wrap around it like ones that have a Carbonfiber design, don’t like that Copper Residual feeling on my hands lol

I decided to search B&Ms for those Americlone Fuhattons after they disappeared off the Internet and I did find a few that still had a small stock that they mainly ordered to sell during competitions, so I found some that way, at B&M prices it wasn’t exactly like stocking up from a website lol...

When they started making them called “Fu*K You” mods is when there would be some awkward moments as not many have seen or heard of that model, I was just searching and got lucky too because not all had the said Americlone with the Cartoon thumb, but they did come from them originally.

The Shorty original and X are both outstanding, I love them both.
