Just wondering when the time comes any chance of converting a existing Woodvil?
Turbo, Rob did mention recently that maybe 80% of the next run of Woodvils would be LP style, but no other details were given.
I don't own a stock Woodvil (no one will sell me one of theirs...just as well, I'd only end up taking it apart and drilling holes in or something stupid
) but based on picks I've seen of the ones out there...there may be a way to actually do just that...If I had one, I'd remove the stock switch and go with a "switch the neg. leg" option (in a wood mod switching the neg. or pos. ...meh, same difference)...first, I'd mill a slot to expose the bottom inside edge of the brass 510 (the lower edge facing the back of the switch), then, intercept the neg. conductor and connect it to one of Rob's S/O firing strips, fab a matching wood plug to fit in the hole of the stock switch and use it to drive the business end of the firing strip into the newly exposed edge of the 510...I'd then make the pos. connection solid and voila, subohm ready mech Woodvil...everything else stays the same...a big plus to note would be that this contact schema would essentially be a paired contact and would not be affected by battery type or terminal condition.
...of course at this time it's theoretical, there'd be some engineering and bezel work to get the switch action nice but I'm pretty sure it's totally doable...anyone want to volunteer a lab rat?

I'm curious if there is any one wood type that always sells first and fastest? I'm loving the spalted maples and wonder if I stand a chance to grab one during the next run.
Others have been in on more wood sale nights than I have, but from what I remember, Ebony, Koa, quilted maple go fast. Oaks seem to last a little bit longer.

everybody has a chance. You've got plan a good strategy, practice your keyboard and paypal skills. Drink plenty off coffee. Even with all that prep it's still up the timing of the F5 refresh. Once the site go lives for ordering, it's first in the cart and to paypal wins.
