Hey everyone,

I got my V1 mechanical switch. I got it in and it fired up right away

I do have one question... There is not much play on the button - meaning I just barely press it and she fires away (lovely hits, vapor & flavor)!!! :D should I adjust the spring or is it normal to be like this? Will it soften up or need a bit more pressure from my finger over time?

On my V2 I have to push it in more. Very easy to push but you feel the pushing motion.

Bottom line... I don't want to screw this up!!! ;)

Hey Lucky,

I only use my V1 at 5v.... never tried the 18650... BUT... at 5v it definitely hits better with the mechanical switch so I would say it is probably very safe to say that it will :)

Kim:

I pm'd you some questions, B4 I saw this post. If you don't care copy and paste my questions, along with your answers. It may help some others. Thanks Can't wait to get mine......

Does the mechanical switch make the v1 with an 18650 hit even better? Can you tell a difference?

My protege hits better with the mech switch, I imagine the V1 will too. I will post back when my 18650s charge up.

Edit...
I'm liking the mech switch. The V1 will now be used for all my fishing excursions. In my opinion it does have a harder hit, maybe less resistance? I'm either going to rubberize my V1 or paint her with pick up truck bed liner. Got to protect her from water and fish stink. :)

If you don't mind me asking, what do you think? Did you get 5v or 3.7/6v? Was it easy enough to install? Did you have any problems with the switch alignment? Does it affect how your adapter screws on the Prodigy?

I appreciate your help, don't mean to be a bother. I purchased my Prodigy VI in August. I've had my switch go out three times. I am really hoping this fixes the problem, because I love my Prodigy.

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I am really happy with the mechanical switch for V1. It was a little bit harder to get in than the other switches but not really a big deal. My adapter went back on just fine too.

I got the 5v one. I have gone through 2 switches since July and my Mom has gone through 3 since August!!! I am really happy to finally have something we can truly count on. I LOVE my V1 too!

The only thing I am unsure of is the button. On my V2 it pushes in real easy but I feel myself pushing it in. On my V1 mechanical switch I just touch it and it fires away. I am a bit nervous about it being in my purse and constantly going off and burning my tip up.

I put a post up so hopefully I will get some feedback when others get theirs too!

I do not mind answering any questions. The forum has been soooo very helpful!!

Let me know how it goes when you get yours!!

I received the Prodigy V1 switch, swapped it and it worked awesome the first time and every time thereafter :)

As an added bonus I got 60ml of 24mg Blueberry... OMG OMG OMG I like your taste Steve ;) This is one of the first fruit flavors I have ever loved. Other fruit flavors are OK or are good as mixers, but Blueberry is fantastic by itself... I'm more of a Tobacco juice vaper though, so I'm considerably picky about non-tobacco juices. Tobacco reminds me what I'm replacing and feels less like "something else".

1 year, 1 month and 10 days since my last analog is proof of that. ;)

Hey M,

Do you feel a pushing in when you press it or do you barely have to touch it? I barely touch mine and it fires. Just wondering if I should do some adjusting or if it is normal?

I have the V2 and I push it in more than the V1. Not hard or anything but you can feel it going in and back out. The V1 doesn't do that.

I didn't see where this question was answered, so I will. Yes, the mechanical switch makes the v1 with the 18650 hit even better. I'm loving mine.

Should get my 2 switches(one of each) tomorrow, I remember when you put up the post of V1 vaping with 18650. I was at the time basically for the most part doing 5-6V vaping and hadn't done 3.7V for a long while. But decided to see what you were talking about, and now I gone back to 3.7V on my Prodigy 1 at 18650. The vape and smoke is awesome, and you are saying its even better with the switches, WOW, I can't wait.

I have the V2 and I push it in more than the V1. Not hard or anything but you can feel it going in and back out. The V1 doesn't do that.

The V1 is a bit easier to fire, they both seem to have the same throw (push cleanly until resistance, push a little more, atty fires) - I believe the bigger button is the reason.

Oh what an upgrade. Spent 20 minutes applying Brasso and Noalox to both the V1 and V2 tonight... OMG OMG OMG they hit so well now, I think even more reliable now that i goobed up the threads and contact points. The Brasso really cleans up the posts and especially the Brass T-Tips from Super T Manufacturing. Mods don't get sexier than this V2.

My wife came in and teased me -- she asked if I was polishing my guns ;)
At least my black 901 kit and 801 kits aren't going to waste - she's enjoying 3.7v on the chinese sticks... Most of all I'm happy that my backup mod is something as reliable as my V1. My V2 has been hitting consistently after cleaning the switch out like others, adapter post is long - I couldn't be more happy!

Now I just bathe in RCR123a's and carry one charger in my laptop messenger bag to work and keep one at home. Between that and my juice supply I must look like an addict

With respect to being a father of young children you fellow parents might get a kick out of this... especially given the level of understanding they have despite being so young.

A tweet from my wife about what the kids were saying when I wasn't home:

Twitter / g5shanna: 9yo: smoking is 4 losers. ...

For the record, my 2yo daughter calls my V1 and V2 my "bubble pens"... She likes blowing bubbles and swears when I am blowing O rings, they look like bubbles :p

The boys also understand the demographic ecigs are targeting - not for kids, not for non-smokers... impressive. I think it's very important for the next generation of adults to fully understand the difference between vaporizing and combustion. I'd rather they not do anything, but the earlier they understand the differences the more likely they'll make the informed decision when they're older. (Unlike the vast number of existing adults in this country who believe if it looks like smoke it must be smoke)

How Awesome is that tweet MG !!!! LOLOL .... Brought the smiles this morning :)

And it truly is amazing what kids can absorb at such a young age ... Fully understanding vaping is for those who *used to smoke* ... High-5 on that bud!!!!

Enjoy MG!

I have a question about the v1 mechanical switch for the 3.7/6. There is a rubber band on the post before the copper band is that suppose to stay on the post or is it suppose to come off?

Well mine came yesterday and I popped it right in and it worked right out the gate and it's AWESOME! It does add some more power too. I LOVE it. 18650 and a 510 is pretty much a perfect vape to me. Yes, mine pushes easy, actually a lot easier than the Protege. Then you have to just apply a tiny bit more pressure, not much, and then it fires. It does feel different on the V1 vs the Protege, but they both work great. I absolutely love it!

Hey TP ... That is supposed to stay on there. Give the contact disk a bit of *cushion*
