My Kraken is dual coiled with twisted 30awg micro coil 5 wraps each side wicked with cotton at .55ohms on a sentinel m16 and I'm getting good vapor but mediocre compared to videos I've seen with similar setups. I noticed when i fire it with the top off it takes about 5 second to start pummeling vapor. Any ideas why I'm not achieving the results I'm desiring? My clouds are there just not thick and pummeling out my mouth like i feel they should and for the decent clouds i do get, a 10+ second draw is required..I've tried less cotton, more cotton, making sure not too much wick is popping above the coils, spreading the coils apart, tightening them, recoiling, adjusting airflute..I'm out of options?

I also wick with cotton and micro coil on the kraken. I open my air up wide open. One thing you have to remember about the clouds you see on camera, the camera picks it up as very thick and dense more then the naked eye will see it. Impressive looking on camera isn't what you would see in person. You can test this out yourself set up your cam good resolution and blow some clouds you will see they look more impressive then your seeing with your naked eye. That said the best clouds I've gotten from my Kraken was with 500 mesh with a small piece of hollow Eko only on the very end where the coil is this prevents shorting and you don't need to torch your mesh I use a micro coil wind to .7 ohms. As far as twisted wire, I understand it to be yes it will be better because there is more surface area for your juice to atomize on. I however not tried this type of coil yet.

Close your eyes and vape.

The guys in the videos are almost universally using 100% VG juice (more visible vapor, sweeter, slower nicotine hit, less flavor sensation, more prone to burning and gunking coils), doing it indoors in well-lit rooms and up close to a high-contrast camera. Simply stop trying to keep up with the Jones'. Close your eyes and vape until satisfied.

The reason it takes a few seconds to heat up is, with your X2 1 ohm coils, versus X1 0.5 ohm coil, the circuit itself pulls the same amount of current (4V @ 8A) but is distributed over 4x the surface area. Try a single 28ga 5 wrap @2mm mandrel coil, which should yield a 0.8-1 ohm coil, and position it closely to and directly in front of your air intake. Or just simply cut out one of your coils from the dual coil and position the air intake appropriately and give that a try.

When I got my first RDA, not even a month ago, I immediately built a .5 ohm quadcoil in 32ga wire, thinking I would be blowing clouds. Nope. It was X4 2 ohm coils distributing 32 watts across 16x the surface area as a single .5 ohm coil.

Measuring coil effectiveness using ohms was a stupid way gauge them in the first place. It should have been, and should be now, watts / coil surface area.
