Throughout browsing the various forums on this site I have noticed that users of the "Bartelbe"(sp?) or equivalent have had their cartridges melt when they left the switch on. This got me thinking--If the atty is capable of melting the plastic carts, is it possible that just by vaping without error, you are breathing in plastic particles? Obviously melted plastic fumes are not good for you. Any thoughts on this?

Good question I am not sure what the carts are made of but PVC does have some toxic charicteristics however I'm not sure it is significant enough to be of any concern. A cart made of delrin would be completly inert and much more durable. I may look into having a friend of mine with a CNC machine make a few of these out of delrin for me and of course I would have to have him make them a little bigger so they can hold more juice.. :)

I think it's interesting that the carts are not made of metal, or something 'unmeltable"...btw what is delrin?

I dont know about that...I used to machine Delrin on a CNC and a couple times the coolant system failed and started to melt the Delrin parts I was making. When I opened the door to the CNC the odor gave me an instant headache. Delrin contains a small amount of Formaldehyde. You might want to look at the MSDS on it first.

Just sayin....
