So no mine didn't melt haha but I was wondering what the best build would be for a plume so I could prevent this? I normally go with a .3 ohm build 24 gauge 7 wrap so yeah thanks guys!

normally thick wire and long "on" times lead to excessive heat transfer to the post which can lead to melted insulators.... also hi amp draws ( current) can overheat the post too....
This happened to me. The insulator cap is honestly just a nuisance, it blocks airflow and just adds another factor that you have to be wary of when you build. you can take some clippers and cut off the lip of the insulator until they are flush with the stem. Makes for a much better vape
Is there any way I can just not use it? Cause I want the airflow all the way open anyways haha
you could always get a chuff cap. it replaces the top part of the rda with a wide bore tip that is almost as wide as the cap itself, however you run the risk of boiling lava hot juice in your mouth if you have an inefficient build
EDIT IMO the chuff cap is not really necessary, the cap mod is easy to do, and there is no real difference in vapor production with the cap all the way out.
