does a sure fire way to truly rid reo bottles and RDAs of menthol and cinnamon residue? should I dedicate a bottle and rda to these flavours, or is that not enough and do I have to get another REO or at least change out the tubing all the time too? I like switching flavours and testing new juices a lot so I figure I might run into some problems here..

Really? There are certain flavors that just aren't worth the hassle, or at least worth the hassle of trying to get the odor completely out of some stuff. You didn't say what atty you are using so no idea of what you are up against there. But getting cinnamon, menthol, licorice or absinthe out of plastic bottles and tubing? Give up before you start.

You do know that the feed tube is glued in place? Some people can get away with not needing to glue it back in, possibly depending on how much 'back pressure' you get from your atty when you squonk. For some people the feed tube just pops off if it isn't glued in place.

You can just drip an atty on a Reo without filling and sqonking to try out new liquids too.

Or were you just fishing for a reason to get another Reo or five? :p

I probably wouldn't use menthol in a Reo, unless it was one dedicated to that flavor. Getting the odor or flavor out of the tube would be difficult. Probably the best way would be to put some vodka or PGA into a clean bottle, and squonk it through the tube. But, the best way I've found to get the last hint of menthol out of a plastic bottle: Fill the bottle with coffee grounds, and let it sit for a day. Empty the grounds out, and rinse out the bottle with water.

Recently swapped the RM2 I had been running absinthe minded juice on to a different mod using a much quieter flavor. I took it apart scrubbed the ceramic, base and cap with some dawn and baking soda, soaked the posts and the metal from under the ceramic, in hot soapy (dawn) in a bowl while scrubbing the other parts. Rinsed everything, dried it off reassembled. No trace of the flavor hung out in the RM2.

The o rings bottle and tube stayed on the mod with the juice so I I'm no help there. I do know I have to keep that juice in glass or anything near it for more than a few minutes smells like that juice.

I have 3 ADV flavours that are all, shall we say, "durable" - spearmint, absinthe, and menthol/berries. I used to employ a rigourous cleaning protocol of PGA, followed by baking soda, followed by hot water washes. It worked, but man, oh, man what a chore. In the end, I decided to dedicate setups to each juice. Life is easy now.

If you're just trying to get rid of an old odour once and for all, try the techniques you've seen mentioned, but if these are flavours that you'll just need to clean out again in the future when your mood shifts, I'd suggest looking at something like device/atty dedication.

thanks heaps for all the tips guys. i've got like 6 BF attys from chowder on the way, so i could easily dedicate attys to the intense flavours... but i only have one reo, so if it permeates the tubes it looks like i'm going to have to sell my dog and a few limbs and get another one (or three).

black wrinkle SL LP is glorious btw, i'll soon make a post about my insane REO saga and a few pictures and shoutouts for good measure.
