Okay I am on the quest for "the" menthol to totally kick the analog habit. So far I have tried BH menthol, Virginia menthol, red box menthol, pall mall menthol and awesome vapor menthol and the only one that tastes even close to what I am after is the Awesome vapor. I am using an ego-t and do know it kills flavor a bit (awesome vapor was a cough drop through a 510 cart).

Ok to round it up looking to try menthol's, do you suggest any one?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the BEST menthol out there, you've already tried.. And thats Awesome Vapor.. I've tried all the Halo's... Vaperite..Dekang..on and on.. The best one is Awesome Vapor.. I love it actually...

So you might as well end your search there..

Also, if you want a true analog experience. You want to crank up the volts to 5 or 6.. That'll give you warm vapor but super cool menthol... I a/b'd it to a pall mall menthol and they were almost identical...

440426 you are the second member to mention the halo menthol's I just might have to make an order and try them out.

CaminoDiablo I have thought about that too, the only problem is I have tried about 20-25 juices and so far have only found 2 I like and adding menthol to a desert vap might be kinda weird but might be great at the same time :) Thanks guys

I would start doing DIY. Then you can fine tune what you want. I got sick of paying good money and getting stuff I hated. Now I make an awesome DK menthol that rocks for $2 for 30ml

I'm fairly new to vaping but thought I'd add my 2 cents...

I smoked Benson & Hedges menthol cigs, and none of the non-menthol juices I tried 'satisfied' me enough to get me off of the analogs. I started to think that e-cigs were not going to help me to quit. Then I thought that maybe it was because I wasn't vaping menthol (what I smoked for 40+ years), so I went on a quest to find a menthol juice that would be more similar to my smoking experience.

I tried:
Dekang: Menthol, double menthol, tripple menthol, green USA mix -- Too medicinal.
Halo: Truepure, menthol ice, cool mist -- Too peppery... made me cough.
Johnson Creek: Tundra -- Again, too peppery, and a weird back taste that I didn't like.
Kick Bass: Vape Placid -- Didn't satisfy.
Crystal Clear Vaping: Menthol -- Didn't satisfy.
Awesome Vapor: Menthol -- Didn't satisfy.

When I say 'didn't satisfy', I mean that after I vaped it, I STILL wanted a cigarette.

Then I tried ProThol from Vapor Cast. YOWZA! It really is a VERY strong menthol but surprisingly, it SATISFIED me! After I vaped, I felt like I HAD smoked, and was perfectly content to go about my business WITHOUT a cigarette. Tho it's really nothing like the B&H menthols I used to smoke, it just satisfied me. From that day forward (October 22nd, 2011), I stopped smoking completely. Just like that, and haven't picked up (nor wanted) another cigarette since. ProThol is my all day vape.

I think it's not so much trying to match what you smoke(d), but rather what SATISFIES you. What 'hits the spot'. Be it similar or not.

I now dilute the ProThol with a bit of VG, either 1/4 or 1/3, depending on how much 'satisfaction' I need. If I'm having a rough day, then I only dilute by 1/4 (and sometimes a few full strength drops directly onto the carto, for a quick zap). If life is good, then I dilute by 1/3. I still get a lot of menthol, but not a huge blast. Of course it also depends on your delivery system because batteries and cartos/tanks/drips all affect flavor.

It really is totally subjective. Don't worry too much about trying to 'match' what you smoked, but rather think about does what you're vaping SATISFY to the point where you don't want or need to smoke? I think that's really the important factor... It certainly made the difference (between success and failure) to me...

Hope this helps!

Smoking in Seattle (who's really Vaping in Seattle! :))

lol yes happy holidays

I agree Seattle what satisfies is most important but if you can match flavor (cake and eat it to) why not give it a try. The hardest part for me is the satisfaction. I started on a smoker friendly ecig the menthol was not a newport but it did satisfy for a few days then I got the joye kit, and its been chase a menthol ever since.

Here is a question when I got the smoker friendly brand it came with a medium carto and it was not enough, then I went to high and was getting buzzed I had 2 analogs that day. Has not been the same sensation since even with SF brand. I have not even had an analog buzz in years, so I guess the question is do I keep upping the nic till i buzz?

One thing they don't tell you but you should know.. Menthol is very different in strength at different voltages.. If all your vaping is on an ego 3.4 volt battery, you will NOT be satisfied. Even WITH a LR cartomizer/atty.. If you want the analog feeling of menthol, you have to goto 5volts or better.. (Take it from an 18 year menthol smoker and a 8 month vaper)

I smoked Newports for 20 plus years and have found Halo True Pure to be as close as I can get to the real thing. I also like Halo's Cool Mist and Menthol Ice. I have spent a ton of money trying to find the right menthol juice and find myself happy enough with the Halo brand, it's close enough for me. I vape it at 3.7-5.0.

For some reason I can't explain, I like menthols better at 3.7V than 5V. But I don't care for in your face menthol; that may be the reason.
