Blimey! The bottom of that atomiser is so close to that PCB! The PCB that has a charging circuit in that, given an accidental overdrippage of delicious Janty liquid could malfunction and blow up a charging battery!!8-o

Please, Don't Start False Rumors! Or Post Remarks That Are Not True!

If You Look At It In Your Hand, That Would Never Happen! The Atom Connector & Battery Compartment Are Sealed!

So Please Knock Off That Crap Before You Get Those Battery Scaredy Cats In A Fur Ball Again!

The Janty Stick Is A Well Built Piece of Electronics & Vapes Like A Champ! I Will Be Ordering A Few More Janty Sticks After My Janty Stick LE Arrives! :thumb:

When Its Together It Is Sealed, U Can't Tell By The Pics....

Don't Believe! Its Easy Too See, Just Keep 0n Snap On The The Sides Of An Empty Stick (Like A Cell Phone Face Plate) , Go Around Both Sides, look At my Pics at The Same Time & Pop It Open, U Will See For Yourself.

U Can Put It Back Together Like New Easily Enough, I Don't Recommend Gluing It Back, Just Snap It Back Together Like A Face Plate, U May Want To open It In The Future Again :D

If your Not Mechanical Or Handy Don't Do It. Do It At Your Own Risk. :-x

I Gave Away The Secret, So Go See.

see those plastic prongs that the atomizer connection fitting sits in. There should have been a set of those on the cover as well. That would have sealed the atomizer chamber but since there are not then the atomizer chamber has two big openings in the corners where something can leak through.

Now look at the coller of the atomizer fitting. See those vent holes around it. Nothing seals those. They are air intakes and can not be sealed otherwise the atomizer can not draw air in from anywhere. Liquid can easily leak out of those. I have seen plenty of atomizers flooded that are leaking from the vent holes.

Look at this video I made for another thread. It shows the two corners where the atomizer chamber is not sealed and liquid would be able to easily run through to the circuit board.

I am not trying to start any trouble or spark any rumors. I am just stating the facts as I see them.

Wonder what differences can be seen on an automatic stick? It does look as if the centre breathing hole is blocked off by the screw in the manual, I forgot about the other holes and I think Janty did too! I guess with careful dripping no harm will come to its use :) I hope Janty will seal it in a later version, it may make the draw a little harder too!

I agree but thats not what I have been talking about in this thread.

Tribal, The modification they need to do it to add some plastic tabs to the coverplate so it slides around the atomizer fitting the same way those plastic tabs in the bottom part of the case do.

There would be two very small seams where it would be possible for something to get through but if the tabs are designed with a slight overlap detail that too could be sealed.

Thanks all for your suggestions.

Cellmeister -- Thanks for the pics of the Stick's innards. Could you elaborate on how you could open a new (i.e. un-dropped) Stick? Would it have to be glued back together, or would it just snap back together w/o glue?

Franklyspeaking -- Yeah I thought of covering the exterior with nail polish but thought that would look pretty janky especially once it got scratched up. Maybe a cover would be better... maybe my Stick could use a "condom!"

Maybe I'll order a second Stick to pop open and modify. I don't want to risk disabling my new primary unit..

FWIW, I got the idea for an LED-less Stick when I was using it to vape in a movie theater last night. Is it possible to use your hand to (mostly) cover the LED? Sure -- that's what I did. But holding it that way seems awkward to me, and it's hard to completely block the light.

It's my own preference for the cosmetics or aesthetics of the thing. I want my public use to be as discreet as possible. I want to reduce -- not pique -- curiosity. Why draw more attention than necessary?

Having the LED visible basically announces to anyone looking that the Stick is an electronic device. This increases onlookers' potential curiosity: "Why is that guy sucking on an electronic device? That's weird, I've never seen anyone do that before." But without a visible LED, there's no reason an onlooker would even suppose it was electronic. With the LED off, it would look more like other -- non-electronic -- devices that people have seen others commonly use in public, e.g. asthma inhalers.

Your desire to block the light is perfectly legitimate, but how strange that my holding technique naturally achieves it, and I miss the LED going red when I'm puff-puff-puffing away striving to get my hit

If I Cup My Stick In My Hand & Use it You Can Not See The LED Even In The Dark, Try It & Practice. I Don't Think U Really Wanna Open Your New Stick Up Yet. :D

Check Out My JS MOD Here and Maybe You Will Get Some New Idea's As Well. And You Can Do The Nail Polish, Colored Electrical Tap, Etc. :thumb:

Good luck

It would be really nice if there was a plastic cap available that you could slide over the mouthpiece and top of the stick for carrying in your pocket.

I'm going to start looking around for something that will work. Anyone have ideas?

Abby

Use Your Empty 801 Cart & Paint or Mod It (Pics Later) Or Look For A Sharpie Magic Marker Cap, I Found One Of My Sharpies Fit Too, I Just Cut It Down A little and works perfect as Well. :D

Yes, Base Ball Caps Great Idea too! There Must be A Member In The Forum That Does Hats & Tee's. We Must Locate them! :thumb:

It shows the two corners where the atomizer chamber is not sealed and liquid would be able to easily run through to the circuit board.

The atomizer connection with the screw inside the atomizer chamber for the manual switched Janty Stick is fully sealed. For the auto stick, it is not fully sealed of course.

Liquid on the circuit board is no issue.

Anything else Dumwaldo?
