Totally agree with Elendil (again) and did NOT mean to give the impression of any challenges here. The atty does go into the unit deep so it isn't 100% like other e-cigs. But again, no "special" skills needed :)

I only meant to give some suggestions to someone asking for help.

I've had the same ease of use just like Parked's video on all the attys he's tried in the stick without issue - snug fit but not a problem.

Sorry if I misled anyone.

I emailed Ethan about this on Friday and he said they still have the batteries for sale but for some reason or another they were not listed on the site. He assured me that he was adding them back on the site ASAP, but as of today, Monday, I still don't see them there. I emailed him this morning bout it and am awaiting a response.
And I Quote

"Anyhow, yes we do sell extra batts for the stick as well as wall . For some reason, they have been pulled off the site, I'm working on getting them put back up there now. Please check back. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Ethan"

So that was my response from Fridays email so hopefully they will be back on the site shortly:)

Kent,

Are you happy with the throat-hit / Vapor Production on your 510?

Does the battery life leave something to be desired?

Have you tried the straw mod?

Throat hit and Vapor are big pluses. The battery thing is how you use it. Because it is manual and one can hang on it longer than necessary, batteries can get used up. Overheating can cause a lack of flavor in some flavors or it can enhance some flavors.

Like anything else, you have to get the routine down for best performance on batteries. Press button a second before the draw and off of it as you withdraw.

The main advantage I find though is the use of the passthru as it bypasses any batt problems one might have. I have one at the computer and one at 'my chair' in the living room for watching tv - that's set up with a wall plug that has a usb outlet (on these - as you might know - they have to be rated @1000maH) and use that one for the car as well with a usb car lighter plug.

I just got a kensington power pack and have that one hooked up right now testing battery time on the pack. So far I've had it hooked up for three days and it is still at 'full charge' - 5 lights showing - but I've been on the computer lately more than at my chair or walking around with it :)

I have only one other ecig - a BlackSuper auto - my first one and were it not for the 510 I'd still be smoking analogs. Much of that may be the fact that I got the 510 three days after the first one so I didn't get the auto routine down, but I still have some problems with it drawing harder to start the atty and then the atty seemingly cutting off just as I'm getting a good vape going :) Then there's a delay before you can start vaping again.

Almost every cartridge I have has the straw mod. And when I get a new one out - I mod it. This is one mod that works really well. Changes a 2 or 3 drop top off to a 6 - 9 drop top off. I use the shaft of quetips (no coffee stirrers were available at the time but intend to try them too). I cut them to 11/16 so they are just below the rim of the cart but not so far down they get covered with filler. I cut about 1/8 inch off the filler. then tuck the fibers around the straw with a dental pick. You can speed the top off by holding the cart almost vertical with the straw on top as the air bubbles up. Routine is - 4 drops in the cart, 2 on that atty, another 4 or 5 on the cart.

I sent you a PM on this subject. Also, water is a problem more due to residue than anything else. It'll leave conductive trace on the board, pushing around ionic content from fluxes and atmospheric contaminants that will build over time, eventually leading to a short or, worse corrosive effects that will eat exposed copper or lead to dendritic growth, all kinds of stuff. Just a bad idea in general. Good luck.

Janty isn't the manufacturer, just a re-seller. The Dura-c is the same thing as the yeti/titan/510. All of them are the Joye510. Some re-sellers brand theirs. No worries

Excuse me?

Janty is the original developer/manufacturer of the DURA-C model also copied in OEM as 510 and now even copied (a very bad copy) by some ruthless Chinese company.

You will see a lot of complaints soon about the bad copy because it is being presented as 510, but it isn't.

we are not resellers, pls do some research before posting. tx!

Thanks for the reply I know joye is the manufactor but was looking for the janty for the warentee. I meant it's a bad sign when the janty sight doesn't even have them. Anyways, thanks for the reply

Youngunner:

Contact Janty through their site to see when they will have more in stock. There must have been a big run on them. I know I purchased a few just recently. Also, though timley you can go through all the suppliers here to see who has them. I've looked at a few and they are out of stock too. I can say that I find the Dura-C to be a quality made item that works well for me.

Hope you will be able to find one soon. Good luck to you.

I've never needed to use pliers to put in a JS atty. I don't think you will have a problem..........

First, I can't believe it came today! (never did get the shipping notice - which I see Julie mentioned happens) And you're right, no problem whatsoever. I _do_ like the "cool" vapor you mentioned and while the 510 puts out quite a bit of vapor, the JS is giving more right now with a fresh charge and a new cart.

I'm assuming that it is ok just to leave it hooked up to the usb plug even if it's charged and you're not using it. If that's not the case, I'd appreciate someone mentioning it.

I'm enjoying this. Thanks for the nudges along the way.

Quick Questions / Favor to ask Kent...
Can you youtube a quick vid of both units using the same juice / liquid & both on a fresh charge showing difference in vapor production?

That would be awesome, as I'm about to buy 2 510's for my friends / myself!

Also, let me know what you think of the "throat-hit" on the JS vs. the 510 you just got (from a fresh perspective of course).

Sometime I get a HUGH throat-hit from my JS w/ almost NO VAPOR...

just curious.

I've heard that Janty was just a re-seller from many places as well. I always had a feeling that theirs was better made (because they include such a long warrenty) and now I see why. Plus, I like the clean black with their white logo :)

Contact them and as if they can get you one/when they will be back in stock.

    just curious.

Don't do vids but using RY4 high in both units fully charged, the vapor cloud is just as big in both but there is more density in the JSv2.

As far as throat hit... a somewhat subjective concept - I get the nicotine throat hit - feel the sting of the nic about the same with both. The 510 runs hotter and so that effects the feel in the mouth/throat - probably more like a cigarette when you're huffing it rather than just a casual draw, the last being more like the JS, imho. To me, the flavor level is about the same. Let me take a few more hits... ;-)

Ok, I am getting more vapor with the JS - while the cloud size is the same, the length of the vapor in the exhale is a bit (a second?) longer with the JS. And again, the JS vapor is more dense - I am using a fresh cart in the JS and a topped off cart in the 510.

I have to think your 'throat hit with almost no vapor' is something else. I haven't taken a drag from the JS without getting a mouthful. But I do have a new cart. And we're talking first day, first few hours after charging. And I'm doing other stuff. ;-) I'll be checking how dripping goes and I'll either likely do the cart mod or just use the needle tip squeeze bottle at first to see how that goes - it's not as useful used along with the cart mod, imo - did a note on it somewhere.... but both are good ploys on refilling.

    Hope that helps.

OK, so I switched attys from the Janty to one of mÝ BE112 spares.. (This is day 4 of vaping for me FYI)...

And after topping off a cart with Hvy Cigar / Shag from Janty I get a bit of flavor.... Then drop a few more in the cart (Yes I'm driving right now so all this takes a bit of time... :) )...

And then I'm back to that tasty flavor again for about 10 puffs...

    Then it goes away again...

If I keep dragging till the 11 second cut-off mark I get that nasty buring throat feel (front / top of throat) and I'm almost 100% confident it's NOT supposed to taste that way!!!

Perhaps it's the coffee I'm drinking at the same time...

Oh, and because the Drive from Philly back east is a Long one... I'm experimenting... And I can definately say I'm an idiot for trying this, but let it serve as fair warning to anyone else a similar stupid impulse to check if the flavor is still there: DO NOT INHALE WITH THE CART IN YOUR NOSE!!!!

Not a good idea at all... :(
