a Janty mod will have to awnser this one, strange though since i do feel a difference when in USB

Well, it appears the question has been posed in another thread, so maybe we'll get a definitive answer.

I, too, experience a stronger vape when using it in USB mode, but I always attributed that to vaping with a fully charged battery.

Guys
try this.

Take a small puff (without primer puffs) with a janty stick on batteries only.

Now take the same puff with the janty stick hooked up to your USB.

the second puff will give vapor and have a larger hit than the first.

After about 15 large puffs on the battery only, the janty loses it's punch.
Now hook it up to the USB....punch returns ASAP.

Also listen to the sizzling sound in the atty when on battery or passthrough.

On the USB there is a lot of SIZZZZZZZLE!!!

They should have called it the sizzle stick !!!:D

I was on the plane from Dusseldorf to Ft myers and vaped for 9 hours straight.
I had a laptop in the pouch in front of me.
I was rotating 3 janty sticks and recharging them.

If you vape ONE PUFF without primer puffs, the janty is a great thing on planes, because it gives you a HIT without vapor (or very little vapor).

The only person that noticed me was a child...
she kept staring at me and was wondering why i was blowing air down my shirt the whole time.

I email Ethan at Janty and asked if the stick was at 5v when on the usb as I also feel a difference between the 2 modes performance wise.

His said that the stick is always at 3.7v and that the diff was just the result of a fully topped off batt.

I still love my stick - can't beat the size, ease and performance of that little thing IMHO.
