Well lol all remember that, sorry guys I was just ranting a bit but I'm done. Hopefully this is a rare thing for janty just hope this does not happen again. Guess I can be so impantent that it kinda got to me. When I emailed janty they said my order was sent but I wish I had a tracking code to it, are the janty mods able to find out what my tracking code is?
I will tell you this...
This is not a rare thing on new product from Janty.
Janty flopped during the Dura-C rollout.
Janty flopped during the Janty Stick rollout.
Hopefully, they will learn to be less aggressive on providing dates.
I don't say this to discourage you. The truth is that new product *always* has this kind of issue because you can never judge the demand properly. Do you make 1000 sticks on the first run and hope people buy 1000? Or do you order 25 sticks, take pre-orders, and then order as the pre-orders come in?
What happens when the pre-orders surpass the manufacturer's capabilities? Do you negotiate with the manufacturer to increase their head count when you know you will see a spike and then a level off with purchases?
How do you manage the unknown? How do you forecast the unsold?
So, Janty has a "good" business problem on their hands. They can't meet the demand. BUT, I will say this, they did *not* increase the price to meet the supply and demand equilibrium. With the law of supply and demand, technically, the Janty Stick should be priced somewhere around 149.00. But they kept the price low to make sure that everyone will be able to get one, eventually.
For that, I am grateful...because I sure as heck wouldn't buy one if the price was over what it is.
Hopefully they learned a bit...but do you think the e-hookah is going to have this type of demand? That's Janty's next challenge...how do you prepare for that release?
